Am I the only one who doesn't really miss Dixon?

I mean sure, I miss the prime days of his stretch here, 2008-09, and those years when we dominated the Big East.

But we're not in the Big East anymore, and he showed ZERO ability to win and recruit in the ACC at the levels he did previously.

Also, Jamie Dixon is a GREAT coach when it comes to getting more out of less. Which is why it was a perfect move for him to go to TCU, where they have stunk and he can work his magic to get more there...

BUT, I'm tired of everybody completely overrating him... including the media...

Everybody bashed Pitt saying he's such a great coach they are going to be sorry. But why is Jamie Dixon at TCU? Why isn't he at a blue blood? Why don't the big successful teams want him???

I know, you'll say he's at TCU because its his alma mater. And I realize that. But why doesn't Arizona want Jamie Dixon? Why doesn't Louisville hire him now that Pitino's gone?

Because he's not THAT GREAT. At least in terms of what really matters, winning in the postseason.

Lastly, I'm SICK of constantly reading posts that make excuses for our program or set it up to fail.

Things like "it's not a great job", there's a low ceiling, we should just accept mediocrity.

It's such a defeated attitude and thinking like that is why Pitt is Pitt. In basketball especially, all it takes is the right coach to be a power. There is absolutely no reason why Pitt can't find that coach. In the 2000s, we had that coach, Dixon. He lost his luster, but there's no reason we should just accept mediocrity because we're Pitt.
