What is this crap again? I've never heard any issues about Boyd.

Always with the cheap shots from the Pittsburgh Sports 'media' against Pitt.

"But there’s no shortage of labels being placed on Boyd for having character issues that need investigated."

(By the way, please use Archive to share links like these. It allows a conversation to be had about stories without providing revenue for these scumbags, especially the PG)

I don't follow your anger with the article. I don't even see your italicized quote in the article. Tyler is a good person who had owned and learned from his mistake.

confusing article. First 3/4 of it sounds very complimentary and the last paragraph, well I am not sure what the hell he is trying to say:

If you remember, Boyd was pulled over along Route 885 last June. He passed field-sobriety tests at the scene, our Josh Yohe reported, and would have been fine if he was 21. Now, I’m not making light of this or even the tiniest case for drinking and driving. It’s not cool. But there’s no shortage of labels being placed on Boyd for having character issues that need investigated.

I am a subscriber of dk. Dejan, Josh yohe, and Jason love boyd. All have defended him and yohe was the one that broke the story of Tyler having .02 bac. This has been a twitter story from some national guy that said Tyler off field issues were hurting his draft stock and all of the dk staff has called out the guy for crappy reporting. You are misreading the quote and are off base in your analysis here

He's saying that's the basis for "character issues"..and he's saying it's nonsense and shouldn't influence team's perception of his value.
Not complicated.

I thought that is what he was trying to say but the last line threw me off. Regardless, I think he was trying to be positive with no cheap shots, just poorly worded..

Regardless of what some no name writer in PITTsburgh writes……having 2 beers and driving 1 time is hardly the thing of NFL banishment or affecting draft stock.

Not a smart thing to do but not newsworthy!

Read the national writers only!

2016 NFL Draft: Ranking the top 64 prospects heading into the combine
By Frank Cooney | NFLDraftScout.com

58/7. *Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh, 6-2, 200, 4.47, 2

Versatile entertainer: Boyd lived up to his hype as a local high school star with three outstanding seasons at Pitt, despite doing it with three different quarterbacks. He leaves Pitt with school career records for catches (254) and receiving yards (3,361). He also averaged 24.4 on kickoff returns, 8.8 yards on punt returns, 8.3 yards rushing and even showed a surprisingly strong arm as a quarterback (3-for-4, 96 yards). Last year, as a true junior, he led the team in receiving for the third time with a career-best 91 catches for 926 yards and six scores. It was his only season under 1,000 yards receiving. Boyd broke Larry Fitzgerald's school freshman record with 85 catches (also an ACC Freshman record) for 1,174 yards. Boyd has a quick release off the line, especially dangerous from the slot, and is already a savvy route runner.

Frankly:
There is a lot to like here. Boyd was competitive and entertaining in college, where he lined up anywhere he could cause damage with his marvelous athletic ability.

Yeah, these guys have been very supportive of Boyd and I think he is trying to defend him there. May not have come off as clear, but I'm a subscriber as well and they have always been very positive about him.

I don't think it was a cheap shot.

Typical pre draft crap I wish that some of these so called insiders had to produce the dirt. I'm sure Tyler agent will try to defuse any issues. I'll be the first to say Tyler Boyd to Baltimore Ravens or New England Patriots.

That would suck. For us, not him. No ravens or Pats, please. I want to root for this young man..

Geez. It's not like Peyton Manning's record in college. Tyler is a great kid that didn't call Uber.

If you guys don't think that NFL teams, ALL NFL teams, are going to investigate Boyd's "incident" then you don't know how this process works.

Saying that he has issues that need investigating is absolutely true, and completely obvious.

I disagree. The writer took some liberties in suggesting Boyd has may labels on him. He also suggested the level of investigation will be much deeper as if he has numerous issues that need discovery. It was in fact far to loose and suggestive as to Boyd and his character. This player has been a class act and has not given anyone with one exception any reason or call to suggest there are other issues in play. I also posted my view that it appeared to be the case he was taking liberties in his article.

If you don't think that Boyd has some labels on him that will cause NFL teams to investigate then again, with all due respect you simply do not know how this process works. I guarantee you, absolutely guarantee you, that EVERY single NFL team will investigate Boyd's incident, and by extension Boyd's character. Literally, every single one of them.

Diligent in reading the case but I hardly feel this constitutes an investigation. I am sure there will be character & moral testimony of every player, so if this what you are saying then yes.
It's a red flag to investigate, is all.

It's a minor issue in the grand scheme..but I guarantee you every single team who interviews him will ask him why he made such a stupid decision and put himself and teammates at risk.

The writer is saying he is getting labels for that incident and they are essentially baseless. National guys have been called out about it and they have no leg to stand on when they are presented the facts. They are creating a flase "flag" around it.

Yeah. The OP is confused. I think Mackey is saying the same thing he is. Is the OP stupid or is English a second language?

Actually, a "National" Writer did mention "character issues in describing Boyd on a website this week. A "NATIONAL" website. Mackey was merely refuting that this should be a concern. Again, as others have said, "it is not complicated". Not sure what the hell you 'tards are getting your panties all bunched up about.

Morons.

In the end, TB will make more money in two contracts than these writers will make in their entire careers.

It would be an improvement if the writer used the verb "be", in his sentence.

I'm nowhere near outraged but I can't quite wrap my head around the argument that Boyd has overcome all of these off field issues but Noah Spence is pretty much a lock in the first round and I have yet to hear his character questioned once.
trust me it wasn't directed at you, more the OP

Mackey was on with DK on the X yesterday and pretty much confirmed what most of us were thinking.

He was saying Boyd is a great kid, and people are making too much out of the DUI arrest. Kept saying that you should never drink and drive, but Boyd has no other issues and it's ridiculous that people are on him so much for this. If he was 21, he would have been far below the limit and has never been in any other trouble.

Boyd took responsibility for this and that shows how mature he is.

Who's "on him" so much? Is it being "on him" to point out the fact that NFL teams, all NFL teams, are going to ask him about this and look into what happened and try to ascertain it if truly was a one time thing?

He had "an incident" in college. A well publicized "incident". The people who think that it some sort of cheap shot to say that NFL teams are going to investigate "the incident" have lost their minds. NFL teams employ people whose job is to specifically look into "incidents" like Boyd's (and to be sure, much worse) and report back to their employer what they determined has actually happened.
