Jay Paterno on PSU vs Pitt

Hard to argue with this Greg. And after Joe killed Pitt's national title chances with 48 unanswered points, Pitt's program slowly died. It has come back, but to nowhere near what it was, I think even the most avid Pitt fan would agree. And lets face it, because of this, Pitt fans unnaturally hate Paterno and cannot see past Paterno to just enjoy and view this game for what it is.

It is amazing to me, Pitt fans have clamored for this game for over a decade, whining, crying, etc...and now it is here, and all they can focus on is Paterno (who is dead by the way) and Jerry Sandusky. Not about football. Nothing about football. Maybe you are preparing yourselves for the inevitable, another disappointing football game and result so you have supplanted this by this moral supremacy narrative, like playing this game is going to change anything that happened in the past.

You guys need to lighten up, have some drinks, go to the game, root for your team and enjoy the moment you all have been waiting for. Good luck.

Thanks man and good luck to you as well! Stay safe and enjoy! Quick question for you before ya go.

Do you believe Joe knew? For some reason not many of you guys directly answer that question. What's your feel as a PSU guy? Did Joe know?

so you have supplanted this by this moral supremacy narrative

Once again you unintentionally post something absolutely hilarious. I mean you realize that moral supremacy was your school and your football program's stock in trade right up until it was exposed covering up for a pedophile, right?

Nice open mind. o_O

Dude, why are you here expecting anyone to kiss your ass, or even be remotely interested in what you have to say?

A sizable chunk of your fan base still thinks Sandusky is totally innocent. An even larger chunk steadfastly refuses to learn any lessons from, or accept any tacit responsibility for creating a culture that enabled what happened. Instead, they demand statues be returned and troll writers who dare criticize their precious, dead leader.

Your institution and beloved football program was involved in what is literally the most damaging, life-ruining atrocity in the history of college athletics, and all you morons do is pretend it didn't happen while simultaneously pretend that your shit doesn't stink, that you're above criticism, that you did nothing wrong. And now you're here, wondering why people don't throw roses down for whatever stupid garbage you have to say?

Well I asked a simple yes/no question once again that went unanswered. Why can't these Penn St people come to answer that question. They just want to talk about it. They bring up 2000 pages of documents but never answer the question. Strange that they refuse to answer the easiest yes/no question ever. They have opinions on everything but can't muster up the goods to come down on the right side of the "Did Joe Know" question. They know he knew but can't admit that they know he knew. So now it's a riddle to the cultist.

If you know Joe knew. But can't believe he knew. Did Joe really know? The answer must be no!!!

Jay wrote a good article and is a great person and father with many talents. If Jackie Sherrill and Joe Paterno can make up and get along so should all Pitt and Penn State Fans as i see it!
