He seems like a really smart kid. Enrolling early in college was a great idea for him. His senior high school season would have been a mess. Instead he is at Pitt getting big time basketball coaching, strength and conditioning, etc. And he is also getting a good amount of playing time and he gets a free year that won't go towards his eligibility.

It really worked out well for him so far.

I was going to post something similar. Right now, he would have played 1 game (maybe) for McDowell and who knows how many they'll get in. He probably would have been in online school and social opportunities would have been limited. Instead, he gets a free year of college ball.

Excellent sentiments. Agree with all of them.

I agree with what has been said. I'm waiting for the time he is fully confident to really look for his shot. It's understandable that he isn't overly aggressive yet on offense. But there will come a time when he puts the ball on the floor and takes it to the rim looking to score. I remember when Brad W. was a freshman and he would get the ball in the lane and look away from the basket to pass to the open man. It kicked in for him, though, and when he got in the lane he took it strong to the rim. Will is going to be able to do that soon. Plus, he can pull up and take a shot as well.

I think Will and his family’s plan is 3 years, graduate, go pro. He would be 19 on draft day I think.

I've heard something similar. These guys are pretty much my all-time favorite Pitt Panther family. The best parents. The best kids. The best people. That doesn't happen by accident.

Covid season doesn't count against elegibility.

I did not see the NCAA announcement that winter sports (men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling) would get an extra year of eligibility.

Are you sure? I will also look into it.

My plan was win the US Open and Masters , but I ended up in dental school !

Will has talent , but he’s shown nothing yet to think NBA .

Yeah, more likely he could follow the Cam Johnson model ... graduate fast, leave Pitt for a blue blood, then go to NBA.
