Saying publicly that no place close to Creepy Valley can handle his daughter's sickle cell. Sounds like he's setting the stage for an exit.

I'd hire him. He's a great recruiter. Yes, he won't recruit at the same level that he can at PSU but if he can land consistent Top 25 classes at Pitt, I'll take my chances with him not screwing them up too bad.

yes, he has a history of working with WRs, and an OC at K state too i believe. I'd definitely hire him for an Offensive coordinator position. doubt he'd take it though..

I was talking about HC. Recruiting is by far the most important thing in college football. Let him go recruit and hire a good staff to do the actual coaching. We need players. Narduzzi isnt a bad coach. He's ok. He just needs better players.

While signs might be pointing to him being on the way out, the Pitt fan in me wouldn't mind seeing him stay there for a long time so that their ceiling is good/great but will never achieve excellence based on his lack of game day coaching abilities, the fact that he runs PSU as a "fun" place to play as opposed to a hard-nosed disciplined program, etc.

75-80% of his players are African American. He's basically saying if you have sickle cell, you shouldn't attend psu

Well what he is saying or inferring, if your family has really serious health concerns, this is probably not the place to be. Because remember, Bill O'Brien's main reason for leaving is he had a special needs child with some rare disease and obviously Houston with MD Anderson is a much more desirable place to get care.

Maybe this puts the breaks on Urban Meyer waiting for this job to open. I say this half jokingly of course.

Speaking of the Pedds...14.5 favorites against MSU this weekend? What am I missing. Two stinky teams....

MSU is awful and PSU has 4 and 5 stars all over the field. At some point, coaching doesn't matter. PSU should win big on their way to a better bowl game than we'll go to.

Is he saying Florida is safer than PA because of how DeSantis has handled the outbreak vs Wolf?
He’s got a beach house down in the Florida panhandle, so his wife and kids are holed up there. There’s a higher risk of exposure in Pennsylvania, where Franklin interacts with 100+ football players and various other staff people every day, then brings whatever exposure home to the family. Pretty sure it’s a practical choice versus a political one.

Many people look into the town's amenities, medical facilities etc when relocating for work. This is particularly true if one has a medical condition or a child with a medical condition. This is unfortunate for Franklin, but he doesn't look like much of a details type of guy. Recruits should also take into consideration if the town they could be injured in has actual human doctors, or a veterinarian serving as volunteer team doctor.

State College to Hershey Medical Center is 100 miles! That's a short drive?

Forgive me. Time and distance to seek medical care is a bit different out here. Especially with any pediatric specialties. It's not unusual to travel that far for care. It's gotten better with UPMC flying in doctors for regular hours in Altoona but it can be a challenge.

I wouldn't read too much into anything Franklin says. He's a guy that is going to float his name out there every year. It's just his MO. But you never know.

I live in Florida and if the New Yorkers would stay away we'd be fine.
Didn't Wolf get Covid-19 but not his wife?

I understand your pain. They (NY and NJ, etc retirees) establish Florida as their State of residence and winter there. They do this for sunshine, low taxes and less government; then bring their high tax and big government voting habits with them, cutting their own throats on taxes. This year they also brought extra Covid along as an added bonus when they fled their northern seasonal homes for southern climes.

Then his excuse doesn't hold water. What great medical centers are in the Florida Panhandle? The University of Florida has excellent medical programs but that's not exactly close to the Panhandle.

Franklin won’t be heading to Texas as the Longhorns’ AD announced today that Herman will be back.
