Guy.

I literally never read that as a reason for leaving, and honestly I believe it. I mean, he can certainly leave and make some good money elsewhere also, so that is great, but his PSN interview was awesome

Wish him well, he was probably my favorite player on the team, high energy, great player and always built up his teammates. We have so much talent coming back it will be great still on the line

Oh, you're still doing the yin yang reverse trolling thing? Any estimates as to how long we can expect this to persist?
So are you saying if someone pissed on your leg you wouldn’t accept it if they told you it’s raining?

Good luck to the kid. But there’s a reason nobody ever heard that as a reason for leaving before.

He wanted to open things up for the younger Pitt guys while simultaneously taking opportunities away from the younger guys at a comparable school. It's the way of the trap walker.

Give it a rest.

This happens at every college. I don’t like it, but it’s the new way of doing business.

He did it the right way. He didn’t wait until after the spring game in the middle of the summer to drop the bomb. He gave the team 5 years.

If some of the younger talented players decided to transfer like N.Johnson, Jimmy Scott, or Fitzsimmons, because they got tired of waiting, you’d be the first to complain…

A drill sergeant once said to his recruits, "I don't want you to die for your country, i want you to make others died for their country."
So, he doesn't want to hurt the young guys at Pitt, he would rather go to another school and hurt the young guys there-
c'mon man!

What do you mean?

Seriously, is this for me? What is possibly wrong with what John Morgan said in his interview?

Are you angry people transferring? Hell Alabama had their number 2 receiver transfer to Oregon yesterday. Having Morgan leave and give probably the best interview I ever read to respect the staff and other players I felt was being a tremendous human. You should try it sometime

Yeah. He clearly said the players behind him are local guys who deserve playing time. Do you think OSU has local guys? No.

Love reading the trolls though

Scenario 1)

The coaches have guys in waiting. Guys they KNOW can be developed into multi year contributors with NFL talent.

They also have Morgan. A guy who has given 5 years and is only a spot starter.

If they dont push Morgan out the door, the younger guys are leaving.

So, in a bit of recruiting/salesmanship, they sell morgan on the idea of being the man elsewhere......full time starter.

All under the cover of morgan publicly stating "its time to give the young guys their day".

Scenario 2)

Morgan has a come to Jesus moment and wants to leave his part time status in the name of helping younger players.

The staff is dumbfounded by the virtue/ good intentions. They cant believe a 22 year old could be so virtuous. They wish him the best as he walks out the door.

I will repeat.

Anyone who believes its scenario 2......including the OP

Does it matter to you what others think?

He’s not coming back either way, so what does it matter if someone believes his reason for leaving?

We are going to bring in an upperclassmen from the portal. Very good chance this person starts. That will answer all questions.

Another poster said exactly what happened. I tend to believe him.

I would think playing for one of the best DL coaches in the country on a team that leads the Ncaa in sacks would want to finish here. This should help him getting a look next year from the Pros. Now the DE position will be lacking any experience but there is talent there to continue having a solid front four/pass rush. This D needs a pass rush for the type of coverages it plays.

Guys, I think it's all part of Duzz's grand scheme. He is going to have all these 5th year guys leave the team but remain on the Pitt NIL payroll, and they will infiltrate rival programs to become spies for us.

Either that or Morgan was disappointed that Duzz told him that Pitt had to keep the Nike uniforms under the university's contract, Duzz won't switch to Trap Walker unis. Trap Walker makes a really good doctored 97 jersey that is perfect for the fake punts, but Duzz still turned him down.

No way the coaches pushed Morgan out. The young guys behind the first 3 DEs hardly played last year. Morgan was a starter going into next season.

He left for his own reasons, whatever they may be. I've stated my speculative theory in some detail in a different thread, based on his statement I believe it to be more plausible than the coaches pushing a productive 5 year player out the door.

“I talked with Coach Partridge and Coach Narduzzi, and it was definitely a shock to them and something that they didn’t expect, especially a guy that’s been here for five years to enter the portal,” Morgan said. “But, once I explained to them what my reasoning was, they were definitely on board with my decision because at the end of the day, they understand that sometime certain situations don’t work out for everybody."

Scenario 2 is, as you stated, complete nonsense.

No but I bet maryland has there own local players which is where he's likely headed ,so he can take those kids spot

Is "Trap Walker" something that other's know without having to look up?

I looked it up when he talked about it on the "Perfect Thursday" podcast. I'm still not sure why he chose that as his, "thing".

There are 0 coaches that operate under option 1 with their likely next season starter. But yeah, everyone else are the morons, lol.

Song at end of video. Trap = hood (young people slang…not the nice neighborhood you want to visit). So sounds like winnng on the road.

As I type this I know some will overreact… But is kind of funny Morgan sells this as you said his “thing” (street hood image) when he’s from the suburbs, has college educated parents, went to an exclusive private HS, etc. That’s just my opinion. We have guys on our team that are actually from the “hood”.

I used to coach guys in BB from some of the worst hoods in Brooklyn, Newark etc. Some of the stories are crazy. I’m glad to see most that I coached grew up and realized there is nothing to glorify.

The foundation of the board is to call other posters gullible af?

Humm.

It is just trolling. Morgan legitimately had a great interview, he has constantly been an extremely good teammate, vocal leader, and worked his @ss off. He works hard. He will be an NFL player.

The same negative posters that call for Narduzzi to be fired, and Heather to be fired, and complain about recruiting, and the stadium, and the fans, and evrything else pitt and never post a positive, these are the same jokes of human that will despise any poster that say something kind.

Obviously Morgan left the right way, he said the right things, and did the right things. If he leaves to the Hogs and gets buckets of money, while he already earned 2 degrees, that is awesome for him. We have a stable of players behind him, and as other posters said, if Deslin, Morgan, and Haba all come back yet again, some of these guys most certainly would bolt. It is a positive for the team

Lol. I have no idea. Morgan should get into politics when his football career is over. He's great at feeding his audience BS, but in a very nice way.
Yeah that interview he did with Vuk was high quality spin. Most people aren't that clever.
