It feels as if we are at a crossroads. There is no denying that Pat has given us a level of consistency. There is no denying that he has led us to some highs as Pitt fans. But I seriously doubt his viability in this present CFB era. He never has been much of a recruiter, and it’s not going to get better considering the lack of funds Pitt has out of its alumni base. His defense is only elite in remote scenarios rather than a guarantee, and he has failed to field an offensive staff to run a competent offense outside of 2/10 years. And then he fired the guy. I don’t have the answer to say who would do better than Pat, but I at least think it’s time to have a discussion that maybe he isn’t the fit for us moving forward
