JRob proving many wrong

Kid took a beating in here and other social media outlets recently (I am guilty as charged) but today just showed why he is the leader of this team. Another solid all around performance.

While he will never be a coast to coast, shake and bake threat, JRob is a good all around guard and and deserving of much better than what he has gotten from the social media fan base. Hopefully he can continue his solid play down the stretch and continue to lead this team.

Great win for the team today. Hope Jeter is ok.

He's also a pretty good defender when he isn't facing an elite quick PG, like cat barber. I thought he was by far our best defender today, he really made bmijie and Cooney work for their looks

He should be a first team all american for the last 4 years of tremendous play. His assist to turnover ratio is the best of all time and should be recognized!!!!!!!!!!

I defended the kid for 3 and a half years. I finally just gave up and caved after multipe 0 for's shooting. Maybe I should have criticized him more often, he's playing the best basketball of his career.

He deserves better today because he played better. Amazing how that works. It is almost an algebraic equation.

solid day from James today, hope he keeps producing for the rest of the year. We are a pretty good team when he does. Speaking of team, great team effort on the boards and more importantly defensively from the guard position. We destroyed them o the glass 40-20 and up top, Cooney and Richardson were a combined 2-19 from the field. Great team effort from EVERYONE!

I think that game where James took 16 or 19 shots got him to feel comfortable looking to shoot. I hope it continues.

I said this in another post about JROB ---- he is a capable player against lesser opponents. He struggles with elite opponents. This is probably true for many players on the PITT roster.

Would anybody be surprised if JROB is outclassed, once again, against UofL or DUKE, the next 2 opponents?

Isn't the same true of like 96% of all players? That you do better against worse players than better players? That's probably even true of elite players.

As I said a few times, James is a very good college guard. He is not elite.

Unless he's got help in the form of a great post, or at the least some wings that can create some space, he's going to struggle at times.

James had a pretty nasty slump this season, at a bad time. It's no coincidence that it happened to coincide with the slumps of a few other guys. But since he touches the rock more than anyone he gets the heat. Nice to see him bounce back.

James has really stepped it up the last 2 games. This team will only go as far as Robinson, Artis, and Young take it.

As I said a few times, James is a very good college guard. He is not elite.

100% correct. A guy like Robinson is most effective when surrounded by weapons. When he has to be a key scorer, he's not going to consistently get it done.
