Anyone who thinks he isn't a good player simply doesn't understand basketball very well. He does many things well, and Pitt's offense runs much better and more confidently when he is in the game. Which is why Dixon leaves him in the game even when he isn't shooting well (which is most of the time these days).

However, his poor shooting performances are killing Pitt. He is 2-10, and 0-3 on 3s, in the first half. He took two tough shots, but the rest were wide open. What if he was having just a modestly decent shooting day today? If he were 5-10, having made just one of his three missed 3s, he would have an extra 7 points. Pitt would still be in the game, down just 6 instead of 13.

Agree. Pitt's offense runs much better with him. He just really needs to not shoot. Drive to the hoop, kick it out if nothing's there, just stop taking jump shots.

Yeah because playing with 4 guys on offense works out really well against good teams too.

Drive it amd dish. Right. Have you watched this guy play the last 3.5 years?

No, he's not a good player. Just because he's the best option we have does not mean he's a good player. He's Tino Sunseri as I was ripped for posting a few years ago. He's low risk/low reward. Tino set all kinds of record his last season. Was he a good QB? The stats say he was borderline All-American as a senior.

And Robinson does not do "many" things well. What does he do well? He's an average defender that is glorified because he's the best defender on an atrocious defending team. Watching him guard Cat Barber is painful.

He went from slightly above average to average to below average. Overall, I will be kind and say he is average. Only a fool was trying to say he was as good as TJ.
A bunch of the board geniuses said TJ would be about the 13th best player on our roster 3 years ago, of course none of them would ever admit that now

He's not a good player. He's an average player who pads stats against inferior competition. He understands the game (which puts him above most of his teammates) but he is limited.

I agree he is not playing very well at all. But did you see when he came out of the Miami game? Pitt's offense went up in flames. He's the point guard basically because Wilson is not ready and nobody else is capable. Not a good situation Pitt is in, but they really don't have many other options.

The thing about Robinson... is he starts putting up bricks and with that he should back off... be more selective... but he doesn't. I have seen Jeter, Jones, etc, start putting up bricks but when that happens they back off.... get more selective... and don't end up having real bad shooting nights.

But, Robinson keeps letting them fly. And the reason he keeps letting them fly... is because Dixon is telling him to keep letting them fly.

Yeah.... get a load of this... Dixon says there are four players that they run plays for. Young, Artis, Jeter and... Robinson (???). You would think they should be running plays for Smith or Slim much moreso than Robinson and... in no uncertain tersm. But noooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Dixon... not Robinson... is the one who is responsible for this and Dixon... should be FIRED (regardless of guarantees in the contract).

He was a good coach at one time but in the last 5 years.... it shows he has LOST IT and things are not gonna get better until he is gone.

Yeah, we might struggle a bit once the change is made.... that's what happened with the football program... but we have to keep at it until the program is back on track. Yeah, with no Pederson at least (hopefully) we won't start off with a 'Woody'.

It is hard to imagine another year with Dixon still as the head coach.

There is not the slightest chance Jamie is fired. Barring something else happening, it is a guarantee he will be coaching Pitt next season.

Do some of you watch the actual games?

Damon Wilson who will be a good player in time was 0-6 yesterday.

When he is running the point Pitt literally struggles to get a shot off.

James Robinson is nowhere close to the main problem on this team. Is it a coincidence he wasn't the problem when the team was better?

Meaning. When he had guys that finished and moved he ball and cut to the hoop he looked 100x better.

JRob is needed on this team, but that's really a comment on the lack of a alternative at PG on the roster.

Robinson is supposed to be "Da Man" of this team. The leader, the glue, the coach on the floor, .......
Truth is, he is none of those.
I have been sitting in the Pete for the past four years, and in my opinion, Robinson is the same player who stepped on the floor four years ago.
NO IMPROVEMENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
