Jung Ho Kang arrested for DUI in Korea and pirates want to dump him

Listening to what Huntington had to say about trading Cutch is enough to make me throw up. All this nonsense that they have to make "tough" decisons to compete for the playoffs on a regular basis. What a joke-the issue is that Nutsack won't invest enough to build a championship club and when they get close, like they did the previous 3 years they sat with their heads up their behinds because they were too cheap to do what was necessary to push the team over the top. Bottom line is that all that Nutsack wants to do is tread water to field .500 club year in and out. Nutting's a bum!

So the pirates are cool with rape but duis are an issue? That's backwards, isn't it.

If you are drunk and wreck and decide to leave scene, probably shouldn't turn yourself in til you sober up. Already screwed, might as well not make it worse.

Where does it say they want to dump him? Not a chance in hell of them giving up on him yet.

Fans get the team they deserve.

As long as Nutting draws 2 mill.......win or lose.......this shite will continue

You bet your arse. There are already all kinds of apologists and idiots defending the move. Give em some bobbleheads and some sparkly embers in the night sky and all will be well. And let's not forget free shirt Friday.

Cut Nutting some slack. Buying ski resorts does not come cheap and Pirates fans are easy marks to help facilitate his growing empire.

A .500 club? They'll be lucky to flirt with 70 wins. Ticket prices shot up after the 2013-15 playoff years. Just watch the attendance issues the Bucs have with those prices and a trash product on the field. Imagine if PNC had yellow seats!

Will the Pirate fans really punish Nutting by not going to games?

Looks like they missed their window. Back to the good ole days of looking at the farm system for help.

Wrong.

As long as Nutting owns the team this will continue. When the business is no longer profitable he will sell. He will continue to run it for personal profit (which isn't invested back into the club).

He is one of the top 10 richest owners in MLB. The budget he gives to the GM is designed to maximize profit, while giving the illusion of competitiveness.

This team is dead to me until there is a new owner.

That's it in a nutshell. The Pirates are run as a cash machine for Nutting and not about being competitive.
Sadly, the fans have been teased the last few years but that is about as good as it's going to get.

Not sure this is fair. He was only being investigated for rape. There is no evidence that he is guilty of it. But there is plenty of evidence that he is guilty of DUI in Korea.

I'd even say there's much more evidence that the rape claim was bogus. The freakin' woman straight up refused to cooperate with the cops. Regardless it was bad publicity and now a DUI charge that actually happened is enough to probably dump him.

They love this, can get out of their contract on a high dollar player, to them not in reality , and the lemmings cheer them on further damaging the team. Wow. Pirates home of the Marks!

Question is now... will they keep Harrison and move back to third? That frees up second for Frazier.

That was good!

I agree cut the guy. He is done.

Did anyone else see the dash cam video from his car? Absurd and lucky nobody got hurt.

OK, stupid question here but gonna ask it anyways. Why was there a dash cam on his car? Is this normal? I thought that was more for cop cars. Do people really have dash cams on their personal vehicles and if so, why? maybe protection for insurance reasons on accidents I can only guess. Kind of sucks that your own dash cam can and will be used against you in the court of law..

According to South Korean-based reporter Sung Min Kim, most South Korean cars have dashcams:

really? Im ok with it.. pay the fine, have your translator drive you around for a couple months and move on.. cutting a guy for a dui? Come on now..

No, cut the guy for this plus the rape accusation. He nose-dived in performance after that. I thought it was because he was guilty and defaced his family. I think this dui shows a pattern now, and we should cut him. At best, now, we have a head case like Pedro. The guy, who was an amazing fielder before the accusation, couldnt field after.

Considering the Pirates refusal to switch game times for its bobblehead and fireworks dorkfest so that Pitt - PSU could be a night game I have no sympathy. Trade Cutch so he can be a part of a team that will actuallly bring him a title. I would say Pittsburgh deserves better than this but they keep supporting it so they don't. Wonder if people finally realize that it wasn't McClathys fault since he was a minority owner.

There is a better chance that the Pirates trade for Mike Trout than them cutting Kang. Do I think that it is fine that he got a DUI, of course not. It is sad and obviously a stupid move on his part in so many ways.

MLB to my knowledge has never suspended anyone for getting a DUI. Heck Yovani Gallardo last year or two years ago blew a freaking 0.24 and paid a 750 dollar fine and it was done with.

Also, Pirates President Frank Coonley got a DUI a few years back and he's obviously still in Pittsburgh

You realize I didnt say for getting a DUI... its for the DUI, rape, and bad play. OK, dont cut him, trade him
