Absolutely killing it vs Elite Competition. Finally, FINALLY, what looks like a Superstar Guard. Finally. Up yours Heron.

He looks good so far this year. Heron has been good for Auburn though. We missed out on him. Rowan, no big loss.

Wilson and Kithcart in the same backcourt will be deadly. That's 2 potential star guards in the making. Maybe the move to the ACC combined with Pitt becoming a more up tempo team will make Dixon start looking at kids like this more instead of lower guys that fit his system?

The most exciting part. Its not only is this kid Lethal on offense. Every report I read is he is a friggin pest on defense. Kris Dunn clone?

How's his FT%. I kid, I kid. My wife asked me yesterday, "what ever happened to Omar Calhoun?", who is another guy we "missed on". He has had an absolutely miserable career at UConn. Don't know if he has been hurt or just stinks, but he has done nothing.

Mostella, another guy, has times where he scores, but he turns it over a ton and from what I've read, plays terrible defense, but he is only a soph, so still time for the light to go on.

Dunn is about 2 inches taller and thicker, but I love what I am hearing and seeing from Kithcart.

I dont have the exact stats for every game. But it looks like around 80% or so.

This really would fit the exact definition of the steal of the century if he plays up to his potential. Many on this board were not even all that excited when they first heard his name.

Manigault has been getting some pretty decent love too from rivals, scout, and other networks in the last few weeks from the writeups, he just was all tournament too. His scoring and rebound numbers against a loaded schedule looks really good.

But Kithcart's number and play,

I don't care what they are rated right now. They are clearly Top 100 players.

I absolutely was underwhelmed when Matt put him on our radar last July. I spent time digging around and reading up on him and watched more video of him and he grew on pretty well. I had a feeling by the time the dust had settled and he committed that he could be better than I intitially gave him credit for. Now, I also get the sense that he might be a pretty signicant hidden gem - JD getting back to his days of having a really good eye and getting guys that other people haven't really gotten on top of.

Would be surprised if both dont finish in the Top 50 or much higher. I have not been this excited for a recruiting class in a long time.

Kithcart led the 2016 Team Loaded VA last summer to an Adidas Super 64 championship and he was awarded MVP. The 2015 PBT Super 64 National Championship tournament is being requested from the NCAA to be a certified NCAA tournament for college coaches and scouts to attend. The light went on last summer. And its really bright now.

This is interesting. Big jump from HS to the ACC but... sounds like he has the potential to be in the regular rotation come next year.

LOL... if we had Kithcart and Milligan out there at the same time... might be one of the quickest combos in the country.. and I have never see that with a Pitt team.

If Wilson, Kithcart and Milligan were our three guards... which one would be starting at SG? Dixon has played Milligan at SG and played Wilson a fair amount at SG in the game against BC. So, guess we will just have to see.

Kithcart at Point. I really like Damon Wilson, but Kithcart just creates offense. Wilson at 2. Kithcart looks like the best incoming Point since Fields.

In fact, I think we start 2 freshmen next year.

PG-Kithcart
SG-Wilson
SF-Artis
PF-Young
C-Manigualt

I like that lineup a ton. Size, Speed, Athletic ability, shooting firepower. We'll be better next year.

Manigault will be a 4, Nix - barring injury will start at center. I would think Luther and Young would spell him the most, partly because Manigault still needs some work on his body to play C.

I dont think so. He's 6'8 240lb, and has dominated the paint against Elite Big Men this season.

Michael Young is 6'9 with an impressive body. How happy were we with him being the primary 5 last year? Manigault will NOT be the starting center.

Manigault is an elite rebounder. Way better than Young rebounding with his body. Why would you pull that type of player away from the basket, a player that controls the paint. That's like putting Blair at PF.

Young is about 6-8, and our team is much more effective when Maia at the 5 is paired up with him.

From his initial stat listings I thought Manigault would not be big enough to play C either but.... watching him on tape a bit it was my conclusion that... he is a C. Is more strong than athletic. Also, he seems to have grown since having originally committed. IMO he will be fine at C.

BUT... I would not count on him starting and he might not be ready for regular rotation minutes come next year. People see players play real good in HS but then they get to college and it is a huge jump and most of them are not ready for it as freshman.

So, if Nix is not ready to start come next year... we got a problem.

Hopefully Nix can (at minimum) give this team about 10-20 min a game next year... His size and hight would be nice to half against the "biggest" big men out there (like Florida State's bigs i.e.)

Go Pitt

How you play is more important than your size.[/QUOTE]

No doubt. And if Young's play was satisfying at center, they wouldn't have brought in 2 players to ensure he doesn't play there this year.
