Kessman wins us 2 games this year! Book my comment.
More likely to cost us one or two. Can’t trust him to deliver from any distance.Kessman wins us 2 games this year! Book my comment.

The long snapper and holder f’ed up a FG today
He has one thing to practice. One thing to work on. One thing to do in the game. And after doing it at Pitt for years, he is simply not reliable at ANY distance!
Think he's watching the Miami kicker...
Maybe... 0-3 or 0-4 at your home stadium... let's hope we score TD's or when he nails the next he's back !Hey, it could be worse. Last week against Florida State the Georgia Tech kicker had a 22 yard field goal blocked, missed a 38 yard field goal, and had an extra point blocked. Then today against UCF he had a 27 yard field goal blocked.
Although after the blocked field goal today they benched him and used the backup the rest of the game.
The long snapper put that ball right on the money. You couldn't have asked for a better snap than that. And Christodoulou dropped it anyway.
Those somewhat close kicks from the hashmarks are harder than they look.I'd need to watch all of his kicks, but it seems like more often than not that when Kessman is kicking from the right hash he pushes the ball to the left of the upright.
I agree. Kicking is all he does. Yes you need a reliable holder, and we have a bunch of backup QB’s sitting around. He has one thing to practice. One thing to work on. One thing to do in the game. And after doing it at Pitt for years, he is simply not reliable at ANY distance!
Pitt down 2 to ND at the end of the 4th quarter. Kessman lines up for a 38 yarder. You feel good about that scenario? This SAME conversation was brought up last September.
Kessman started. 4/10 last year through 5 games, finished 18/21 in the last 7 games. He’ll come around. He’s our kicker and has earned it.

i thought i heard one of the announcers say last week (Austin Peay) that he showed up at the summer camp with a different kicking style (read as picked up a bad form without coaching during COVID) and that the kicking coach was trying to get him to convert back to his old form? did anyone else hear that?

i recall everyone on this board (Myself absolutely included) saying the same thing at this time last year. think he finished last 8 games with only 2 misses.he did get off to a bad start last year as well; hopefully he's locked in from next week forward.
You do realize they practice that every day for months before the seasons starts, including with a live rush on.This looks like a timing issue and that makes sense early in the season. It looks like a bit of a hitch that throws off the timing from the snap, hold and kick.
Then don't run plays that result in that hash for the kick?I'd need to watch all of his kicks, but it seems like more often than not that when Kessman is kicking from the right hash he pushes the ball to the left of the upright.
Kicking is like a golf swing. I’m a golfer so I’ll chip in (get it) with my advice.
So he’s pulling it, do what I do on the golf course when I’m pulling my wedges and short irons. Slow down your swing, then you start pushing it wide. Then you say F it and buy a 6 pack from the cute cart girl and realize you suck at golf anyways so why even get upset about it, no one gives a crap if you shoot an 88 instead of an 85.
Hope this helps
you know i was thinking this but honestly, lets evaluate this. so you dont want to leave the ball on the right hash for Kessman. OK, sounds good but that means on third down, you are basically limiting your play book to runs to the left or passes over the middle or to the left. You are basically going into 3rd down with a defeatist attitude. Then don't run plays that result in that hash for the kick?

Call plays for it, no - be aware of it, take it into consideration you betyou know i was thinking this but honestly, lets evaluate this. so you dont want to leave the ball on the right hash for Kessman. I dont think you take into consideration where the ball is on your third down play. Sometimes yeah, it's 3rd and 15 on the 40, you run a draw or a quick screen to get into field goal position. End of game, you are down two or tie and it's 3rd down, you play that game but 95% of the time, you cant worry about such things and you focus on getting the first down..
you start calling plays on third down to set up kessman, you are doing your team a big injustice..
Well except occasionally at the end of games/halves they aren't running the third down play to set up the field goal. At least I hope they aren't.Then don't run plays that result in that hash for the kick?
