Kitchens Fired

He needed canned, but eventually they need to find someone and have some consistency. That organization is a mess.

Coaching carousel off to a fast start.

Who’s next?

Marrone, Garrett?

And who are the hot NFL assistants? Sounds like the dude in Baltimore is one. I don’t pay enough attention any more to know who’s who.

And also sounds like Rivera will be going to the ‘Skins.

If they could land Mike McCarthy, that’d be a great hire. The one team I’m interested in seeing who they hire is New York. Sounds like they might go after Baylor’s Matt Rhule.

I would not be surprised to see Carolina hire McCarthy.

I would definitely hire Rhule over either current NY coach.

Needed to happen. I wonder if Urban Meyer is their target.

Im going to say no way Meyer goes there. USC maybe, but the school president hates him. He’d probably accept the Cowboys job in about 30 seconds.

Thinking the Browns have a small shot at Lincoln Riley, maybe McCarthy is interested.

Eventually the Raiders will hire him.
Perfect coach for that team and fanbase.

This is what amazes me.

All of these fired losers will be hired in the football business.
They'll get fired again.
The same fired even more times losers will get hired another time and the
Cirle je-k, I mean cycle continues.

Getting hired then fired then hired again in the coaching carousel is like the corporate's golden parachute for the NFL. Keep recycling these guys.
Not sure who holds the record but Wade "bum" Phillips has to be in the running.
* - Wade Phillips - was an interim head coach for the Saints and Falcons, coaching 4 games for the Saints and 3 for the Falcons. Interestingly, he took over the Saints when his father, Bum, was fired after the 12th game of the 1985 season.

1) 1985: New Orleans Saints
2) 1993-1994: Denver Broncos
3) 1998-2000: Buffalo Bills
4) 2003: Atlanta Falcons
5) 2007-2009: Dallas Cowboys

Maybe they should fire the people who hired him.
This

The Browns will never get it without better owners and management

That’s been the obvious problem for the past ... 20 or so years.... it’s not like the Rooney’s who generally make very good calls. My late father grew up a Browns fan , saw all the greatest teams and players Otto Graham, Jim Brown and coach Paul Brown etc.... he also was a Steelers fans of course living in Pittsburgh through the Super Steelers era and beyond... but he thought the current owners didn’t have a clue. I can’t count the number of times he’d recite some unbelievably impossible way the Browns lost the week before... made Pitt losses look minor....and the WAY they would lose.

The Browns still have a passionate fan base though... they need better ownership. I’d rather see a strong Browns so the game would mean more each season.

Ron Rivera is another stiff. The NFL continues to recycle head coaches. The Redskins will suck just like the Panthers have.

Urban Meyer is not a good coach. He is a good recruiter who was given a chance to be the head coach at one of college football's power programs. Urban Meyer's wife could coach a team full of 4 and 5 star college football studs and basically put up the same number of wins as his teams did. Put Urban Meyer or Nick Saban as the head coach of a school like at a school like Pitt or Temple and they would not come near the number of wins they had at Ohio State or Alabama.

Bowling Green: 17–6

Utah: 22–2

Florida: 65–15

Ohio State: 83–9

Total: 187–32

Where in the world did you come up with this assessment of Meyer?! Have you been on a different planet?

BG was 2-9 the year before Meyer and then 8-3 and ,9-3 under Meyer.

Utah was 5-6 the year before Meyer, then 10-2 and 12-0 without any 4 or 5 star recruits and a bunch of players from the previous coach. I saw his team crush us in AZ.

Ohio State was 6-7 the year before Meyer under Fickel. They went 12-0 under Meyer his first year.
with "someone elses" players and nothing to play for but pride since they had a post season ban.

Might want to let a fact or two enter your mind before posting. You don't like the guy? Fine. But his immediate turn arounds are the stuff of the legends.
