Kolat to Navy

Why, Navy used to good in the sixties?

Just figured that Cary built up this program, seemed to be supported very well by administration, new facility, and honestly he had Campbell running better than Navy already. I believe he had no interest in the Pitt job a few years back so just sort of surprised that he could have had a plethora of options any given year and he choose Navy.

his wife is from Maryland so navy is appealing, and Carey isn’t your typical coach trying to get a “top tier” job.

Navy was always strong when Ed Perry was there. They should always be strong when you think of it. Combat sport with unlimited scholarships (everyone goes for free).

The water polo team and wrestling team were the most representative sports in the SEALs.

Marines (branch of the Navy - even if they don't always like admitting it) sponsor a lot of wrestling events because the attitude translates well.

Did anybody take COACH Peery,s wrestling phys ed class in the 1970s? Absolutely loved it. Learned so much in that class.
I graduated in 72. Had gym my freshmen year. One term swimming, one term very mixed bag.

Seem to remember Baseball Coach Lewis playing some part.

For everybody who took PITT PE. Remember how you would step up to the counter in the Locker Room and get your shirt, shorts, towel and then give them back to The laundry room after class was over and we had showered?
