What? The kid that was arrested for this incident was a Pitt student from Easton PA. His name is Richard Eisenberger and he was 20 at the time. This is a simple fact, nothing more or less. Read the article.Yes the classic head in the sand someone else response. Keep looking for the truth
How could I forget that. The band is always top notch though I wasnt feeling pitt dads dancing to staying alive
Thanks for reminding me. Jack R. is a legend, but the band is much better now. The Dancing Dads were a stretch but I like the imagination. The PITT band was Great Again!
Congrats to the band people!
Mrs Buffett and I do our stuff, get our stuff, before halftime and watch the band and other halftime activities.
The Barnum and Bailey theme with the three rings was very interesting.
We love winners and the PITT band is a Winner!

SIAP...Sometimes football enthusiasm turns ugly and brings out the worst in people. Here is a great look by the Pitt Band...

Jack is the Walt Harris of Pitt Band, saved it from the unbelievably terrible years that came before him. And everyone knows the insane stories of how little support football had under Pederson (couldn't even get new carpeting in the practice facility), well the band had it a lot worse. They still aren't on the same level as even the average p5 band, but Jack never had a full size practice field on campus after Pitt Stadium was torn down (they have one now), or a full time assistant director (they have one now).I loved jack, great guy, but frankly pitt’s Band wasn’t as good as some local high schools under him.

I was talking in terms of support from the school, not quality of the program. Michigan is similar in terms of having a ton of engineers and science majors in their band, for example, but are way ahead of us in terms of funding and staff numbers, so it goes a long way.as I said......well over half are engineers. This is a fun diversion from thermodynamics. It isn't a marching band is your mission in life like OSU or MSU or someone like that. So without a big music program it will never be like other P5 schools. But the numbers are pretty good, so if it attracts kids since it is something fun then so be it.
And Michigan has a highly regarded School of Music, so they have built in support just from that. It's a completely different landscape than Pitt.I was talking in terms of support from the school, not quality of the program.
