Lady panthers on root right now

How about one of the announcers mentioning that McConnell-Serio holds the all time NCAA career record for triple-doubles with 7. Yeah, she's 5'-4".

She knows how to win. Despite taking over a program that was in ruins....she has turned it around in two short years. She is a great recruiter. She is a great teacher. And she appears to be a great coach. She never made excuses or complained. She only has 11 girls on the roster...7/11 are freshmen and sophomores. Very impressive! Hail to Pitt!

wonder if the girls just threw away their NCAA Tournament bid***

Re: wonder if the girls just threw away their NCAA Tournament bid***

I was just gonna post another topic - wondering the same. I think they were a projected 10 before this game so I would imagine there's some cushion. Hopefully enough of one.

The question is - who the heck was wearing No 3 for the Panthers today? It sure as heck wasn't the Brianna Kiesel I know...

The play of the women's team has been going downhill for a while, but I didn't think they could play this poorly. This game reminded me of a typical game from the last few years that Coach Bernato coached. Poor decision-making and poor shot-selection and turnovers galore...

In the second half of the season, this was the type of game where Kiesel would have bailed them out by scoring 10 points in the final 5 minutes. You knew something was wrong with No. 3 today when she missed foul shots - she ended up 1 for 5 -- for her, both of these numbers are astonishing.

This team lost it's game when it lost confidence in their 3-point shooting. They were 1 for 8 today, after averaging over 6 three-pointers per game for the season.

Just a horrible performance at the offensive end.

But as has been posted - it is Pitt's only poor loss of the season. Hopefully they can still sneak into the NCAA, but at 19-11, I would guess they could just as easily be passed over. Getting into the NCAA tourney would still be a fantastic accomplishment -- heck, getting into the WNIT wasn't even on the radar for Pitt at the beginning of the season.

Go Pitt.

Really felt bad for Brianna after what she has meant to the team. Very similar to Woodall's men performance in NCAA's versus Wichita State.
