Last time we beat Clemson?

Josh Newkirk was on that team. I was at some bounce house for one of my kids friends birthday.
Yea, that's why I've beem saying they have become NC State for me. I believe our last win was Dixon's last regular season ACC game where we were down 5 with 5 seconds but Patterson made a 3 and Newkirk stole and inbounds pass to tie it.
Our games vs them have like all been the same game. They hit 9 of their 1st 11 3s in the first 10 minutes and we go down 20 early.
And most of them have not been close. In fact, I think the closest margin has been 7 with several losses at 15 or more.

It’s ugly. Funny thing is they beat them the first few times they played. They’ve not only lost the last 9 they’ve played, but the average margin of victory for Clemson is ~16. And I get Pitt has been largely rough in that period but it’s not like Clemson has been that amazing themselves.

If Hunter Tyson gets open looks, I'm going to scream. I feel like that dude or guys like him that seem like the same dude have shot 15/18 from 3 vs us the last few years.
Will be interesting to see how they do @ VT tonight. 6.5 point dawgs.
The difference being, of course, that Virginia has been the best program in the ACC for the last decade and Clemson has, well, not.
They handled VT on the road. They're good. Reminds me of the good ND teams. Good sets. Back cuts. Solid shooters 1-5. Gonna be a big challenge Saturday. Can't wait.
Hunter Cattoor got injured in the BC game. Virginia Tech lost to BC in overtime and now has lost 2 more straight games since and is on a 3 game losing streak. That losing streak could very well continue without him. Rodney Rice is still out for Tech.
Alex Hemenway might be a go for Clemson against us. This is a dangerous Clemson team we are playing and from my viewpoint was the hardest game between them and the last 3 we played simply because they have our number and the way they shoot the 3. Our defense has to guard the 3 point line from the opening tip.
While on the injury subject Duke also has a pretty big problem with Jeremy Roach not being close to 100% with foot issues. They just got smacked by NC State. We have a chance in this game now even with it being on the road.
There is a very big wildcard coming up in the ACC with Florida State and we still have 2 games against them. That wildcard is Baba Miller, a freshmen from Spain, who has been suspended the first 16 games of the season. Why does this matter? Because Miller is projected by multiple websites as an NBA lottery pick. I do not know how good this kid is but we are going to find out real soon. A loss to FSU would hurt real bad.
Clemson is a bad matchup. I thought UNC was a good matchup but thought their overall talent would be too much. I didn't think UVa could out-talent us but didnt know if we could score 60, even 50 points against their defense. Clemson isn't going to wow you with talent but the way they shoot it and the way they can get themselves open look is a bad matchup I think. Our perimeter players aren't quick and are susceptible to not being able to close out quick enough or getting caught in rotations.
