My insider informed me, what he is hearing and seeing on the inside, is that Javi has impressed the team, and will be signed to a contract. He will most likely be optioned out to the USL, but may be the first call up if they lose a midfielder. Such as baseball has the 40 man roster you can protect, with 25 active in the majors, soccer has 30 man protected roster, with 18 active each game. His most likely shot at playing time is when they get in the open cup and facing minor league teams,

He joked with the GM about the 2nd pick for the 2nd year in a row being from Pitt, the GM said, he had quickly thought about that once, but says he hopes if they do it again, the player is as good or better than Javi, and not like Planellas.

I thought Planellas was better than Javi but what do I know. Javi is a good player but I thought he had a disappointing senior year. It sounds like he may be Pitt's first ever MLS player at some point.
