I sincerely hope this isn't the beginning of the end. I really thought this was the guy but it just doesn't seem like PN has what it takes as a head coach. Some thought (sad thoughts):
- I know the offense wasn't the problem yesterday but we can't throw the ball 33 times for 174 yards and think that's going to suffice. We are doing with what we have but I think Pickett needs to put a little more touch on some of his passes. Not everything needs to be a laser, especially when a guy is open.
- I suddenly like our RB depth the rest of the year. Hall breaks another one and Salahuddin was great speed and really showed nice patience on some of his runs.
- Nice game from both Ffrench and Mack. We don't have a true number one but these guys are doing well and will hopefully develop.
- I can go a week without one of our D lineman taking a late hit on the QB penalty. For being so aggressive, you would hope we have more than one sack.
- The refs. I mean holy crap. When even the ACC biased announcers are asking how these holdings can't be called I don't know what to say. You call holding on a TD run maybe we hold them to an FG. You call holding on 2 and 17 they likely don't convert on a TD drive at 2 and 27.
- I hate singling out kids so I'm not going to use a name but anyone who watched the game knows we have safety out there who can't cover or tackle? So what would you say you do here?
- To the a$$ hat who tweeted to Tyler Sear that he should tell his coach to get his resume together, get an f'ing life. This kid is showing frustration and plays hard and that is your response? Either don't reply to say something nice. Those are your only two options as an adult.
- One more thing on the defense: Wirginis should be blitzing every 3rd and long. He can't cover and he's a liability in coverage when he gets into space. He's maybe one of our best defensive players and we need to use him appropriately. Hamlin is also showing some great signs.
- I don't think we should fire PN. I have lost hope that he is the guy for the job but we need to give him at least one more year to prove it and, at the very least, we will have depth to withstand a coaching change. If one think Lyke has shown, it's that she can make the good hire.
- I don't think we will beat UCF and Syracuse looks good. I think if we win less than 6 games next year is going to be the put up or shut up year for PN.
