Nice to get a win. It got a little too close for me at the end there but we took care of business. Some thoughts on what may be the last Pitt football game this year:
- Funny that Pickett finally gets a running game he has a less than stellar game. If anything he's been consistent with another 13 TD, 9 interception year. The announcers said he's deciding on if he's coming back or not next year and I think thats the difference between getting to 9 wins next year.
- The refs - is this what it feels like to be on the other side of all of these BS calls? I still don't like it but fortune favored the brave for one night...and deep inside ACC territory!
- I know its easy to see how a guy does in a game and make assumptions about practice but Gonclaves looks like an NFL lineman to me.
- Vincent Davis had a hell of a game. There were definitely more running lanes but he also refused to go down on multiple occasions. He had 39% of his yards on the SEASON last night. Hope it's a preview of year 3.
- Nice TD catch by Turner but Addison (and was it Wayne?) should have had one too when they burned the D bad but the ball was overthrown.
- I thought Jones and Alexandre had great games. We will miss Jones and Weaver but Alexandre has a chance to step right in and replace at least one of them.
- Pinnock had a great pick as did Hallett. A lot of talent in that secondary coming back.
- I really hope we don't remember Kessman (maybe he comes back?) for his miss against BC because he has been lights out the rest of the season. He hit almost 80% of his FGs this year and only had one miss since the BC game (6 games where he went 16 of 17!). He also made 23 of 26 after missing his first 3.
- I hope we get to see one more game. As frustrating as this team can be, I really just love Pitt football.
