First off, it was our first time in South Bend. Had a great time and it was a great atmosphere/experience. Lots of Pitt fans there and the Irish fans around us were very nice. Even ran into Pat Bostick on the way in.

- With that being said, we had our chance and blew it. That might’ve been the best I’ve seen the defense play all year and the offense gave them no help.
- Then again, the offense probably did put us in a position to win but the Kessman missed kicks were tough luck. Little demoralizing when two of your longest drives of the game ends in zero points, and then when they were stalling the punts were bad and gave them great field position.
- We didn’t deserve to win in the end with the play calling. Became way too predictable and it killed us. I also don’t get why you play super covereative the whole second and decide to all of a sudden become aggressive on the fake punt.
- Also starting to lose faith in Pickett. Had no confidence in taking shots downfield. Notre Dame didn't respect us the entire game. Had his chances downfield and passed on them. Then again, Watson didn’t give him much help.

With that being said, hopefully they can move past this and bounce back with a win next week. Really thought they were going to do it, but that’s Pitt for ya. :( H2P always.

He made some good throws today; they have to trust him to throw it deep.

Maybe not deep deep, but today I think we had 6.6 yards per completion. The passes to Matthews were nice. Did we throw to him in the third quarter?

so Pitt did have open receivers downfield? It is impossible to know watching on TV.

That being said the offensive line is a disgrace. Pitt's last play where Notre Dame only rushed 3 and STILL were in Pickett's face almost immediately is proof of how pitiful they are.

They were open but either the defense would be behind the LOS by the time he’d be ready to throw it or Pickett would be hesitant and check it down or take off with it.

Offensive line was atrocious. Disappointed in Bookser. Senior captain and had two crucial penalties.

Also, for those watching on TV, was the 4th and 28 close or was it obviously out of bounds? Found it funny how they didn’t show a single replay of it at the game.

No, but it's likely because they pressed him harder after he had initial success, changed the DB covering him, or dropped the backers off deeper into the lanes, and stopped it. Pitt/ Watson needed a new answer, and of course, he didn't come up with one. He's just not much of an OC, but hey, with the money saved not paying a good one, we have a better soccer coach.

The second was outrageous BS. They called it because they felt bad having to call PI on ND the play before.

Bro I just believe in my team.
Actually, the statement you made is true, whether you believe in the team or not. If Pitt wins out, they're the Coastal champs. Now, I wouldn't bet a dime that they will do it, but the coach doesn't start making decisions like the season is lost when it has a chance to be champs.

Besides, Pickett needs more reps for his development. You only play the backup if you think he gives you a better chance to win the next game, which Narduzzi should do if he believed that to be true.
