Would be cool if he bought a Natty for the Akron Zips. It wouldn't cost that much. $10 million?

Did they move Ohio State to Akron and rename the mascot?

I'm not. But he obviously is when he states that he can care less if white people come to see him play.
Are you talking about Lebron James quoting the feelings he had when he was a 14 year old high school freshman?

His kind looks for ways to misquote and take quotes out of context for one of the greatest sports roles models this country has ever had

- married HS sweetheart
- no affairs
- no off-court scandals
- had some crazy consecutive game streak when he didn't need to play every night

Just an all-time great dude.

Yeah really hard to complain about what he has done on and off the court, though the "Decision" being televised was a bit much. That's the only chink really...

He is from Akron and his homecourt in HS was the Akron gym. He is an Ohio State fan but his heart and his money are in Akron.
Dambrot was his coach growing up, right? Why not create the $10 mil LeBron NIL collective for Duquesne? That would be awesome.

Well there was that thing he tweeted about the cop before learning the facts. That barber shop show he had where they dropped "the word" about ten times. The time he pretended to act studious and talk about a book he obviously hadn't read. And, most of all, the whole China hypocrisy.

I don't really care enough to have much of an opinion on him, but I can certainly see why some people wouldn't like him. He's very good at basketball, but I don't think he's quite the intellectual he would like to portray himself as being.

The reason the majority of the people "who don't like Lebron" - don't like him is because of a former president and "news" network decision that not liking him was good for their culture war of nonsense. It's pretty funny and sad.

Don't forget
$50+ million given to various charities and scholarships
$30+ million to found a school for at risk children

The Decision was basically a telethon for the Boys and Girls Club of America. They took in like $3million in donations and 100% of the advertising proceeds went to charity. All together it raised $5+ million for various charities.

Instead of a nour of Skip Bayless guessing about where he was going or Stephen A Smith ranting about where he might go, James instead raised $5+ million for charity.

Like him or not- he's done more good/great things for others than 99.9% of the population but in some people's minds- if he disagrees with their opinion; that makes him a villain.

All things being equal, he is literally one of the best humans on the planet. I say that because of his charitable efforts and with all of his money, he has had like no controversy which is almost impossible. We have multiple presidents cheating on spouses and LeBron hasnt (or at least it hasnt gotten out). Maybe his team is just good at burying any controversy but that makes him pretty good at having a team like that because no one else can avoid controversy like he can.

Not to mention the ‘I Promise’ school he opened for at-risk students in Akron. Seems like an all-around good guy that is also pretty business-savvy.

Say what you want about some of his political opinions, but you can’t argue with his charitable contributions. The funding of scholarships, the “I promise” school, that non profit that helped to register people to vote in 2020…etc. He also helped start the era of player empowerment, which lead to players having a greater say in roster construction. His impact will be felt for years and years.

Cause he is a racist. And he couldn't hold Jordan's jock.
Yeah, Lebron never

-Punched 2 of his teammates in the face during practice.
-Constantly verbally abused teammates during games where they had a poor performance.
-Tried to disband the player union to benefit himself at the expense of anyone not named Jordan.
-Didn't exclude himself from the union licensing agreement allowing young fans to play with their favorite player in video games.
-Had multiple publicized affairs and known gambling issues that led to a divorce.
-Needed to have lawyers involved to admit paternity of his first child.

btw spent much of my childhood and Chicago and still believe Jordan is the greatest. But he was no saint.

I would imagine there are a lot of Lakers fans who don't like the fact that he's a bad General Manager.

You’d think lebron went to Duke with how well he has perfected the flop.
Lebron learned one thing very quickly when he started making serious coin. Go talk to billionaires to learn what billionaires do with their money. His million dollar investment in Blaze pizza turned into 30 million. And many other investments have gained significantly. He learned how to market himself and make his money work for him.

i'm a big LBJ guy and agree with all of the above but change "no affairs" to "no reported affairs".

I mean.. come on.. we can't be that gullible..

Predictable and tiresome.

I love MJ, but he has his stuff as someone else noted, he just puts the proper facade on to placate people like you.

LeBron doesn't bother with that as much. Doesn't know his place like that.

Determining who the GOAT is has nothing to do with personal life, you can play every game from prison work release, or running your criminal enterprise and still be the GOAT, the only thing that matters in being the GOAT is what happens ON THE FIELD DURING GAMES> Nothing Else.

Some people don’t like more democracy
It’s against their tendencies to be for authoritarians

Jordan is great - but it’s worth pointing out he never won crap until he was paired with his Lebron (Pippen)

Has he put money into Akron? Serious question.
And how much of his wealth comes from the genocidal maniacs in the Forbidden City?? Also serious question.

My beef with the NBA is the hypocrisy over human rights in the US while completely ignoring China and also going after anyone who challenges this.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Probably because those athletes are us citizens and not Chinese ones?!?
The simple answer is the best
Except the nba is a global business that reaches far and wide and is a huge voice for global causes, even what is happening in Ukraine. They stand for many causes, except one where everyone knows exists, but they refuse to speak out against the atrocities. They choose money before all else. And if you work or play in the NBA and speak out against this stuff you get fired, ostracized, or not resigned.
