LeBron a billionaire

Except the nba is a global business that reaches far and wide and is a huge voice for global causes, even what is happening in Ukraine. They stand for many causes, except one where everyone knows exists, but they refuse to speak out against the atrocities. They choose money before all else. And if you work or play in the NBA and speak out against this stuff you get fired, ostracized, or not resigned.
Daryl Morey still has a job. Kanter doesn’t because he sucks. Not because of his stance on China.

Has he put money into Akron? Serious question.
And how much of his wealth comes from the genocidal maniacs in the Forbidden City?? Also serious question.
He's pledged 1,100 4-year scholarships of $9,500/year for Akron high school students (I believe last year was the first year and 200 were given out), up to $42 million total.
There's also his school, his home food program, his youg kids mentoring and tutoring program, his Boys and Girls Club stuff, etc.

Let's not pretend that there is really any company or cause doesn't selectively choose their blind spots. Some have fewer blind spots that others, some have blind spots you agree with, some have blind spots that you don't.

It can be argued that LeBron is one of the most philanthropic athlete of all time. That could not have been a serious question. The dude created a friggin school for underprivileged kids.

Yeah
There are things to criticize about lebron -
Being a solid human and very charitable are not among them

What am I supposed to accept? I don’t watch NBA because I hate nba, and I can’t support an organization that tiptoes around China for fear of the communist nation. It’s no different than people mad about treatment of the gay population and fight for LGBTQ, but dead silent on how the Middle East treats the gay population. Throwing men off buildings. It’s either all bad or it’s not. You can’t be outspoken about one situation and silent on another, especially for fear of missing out on millions of dollars and having China mad at you.

You vote in one country right ?
Your representatives in government are part of your system .
Your platform affects only that system .

let’s not pretend you’re some bleeding heart global citizen - you’re being very selective in having a double standard for nba players because you simply don’t like their opinions and resent their celebrity .
You certainly aren’t holding politicians you like or others to the same global standard based on their virtue signaling and hypocrisies

That's on of the most ridiculous statements that I've ever heard and unfortunately a common one. Name one organization you do support that would fit your characteristic. There's always going to be issues somewhere that someone is ignoring, that doesn't mean they shouldn't advocate for issues in their own country. I don't agree with the NBA's stance in China, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't fight for change to protect and benefit their audience at home, many of whom come from the same background as their players.

Just because "everyone is doing" something doesn't make it right. Maybe our society would be a little better if hypocrisy didn't run as rampant.

I would argue that it's impossible to do. No matter how many causes you are an advocate for there will always be 100 you don't know about that others demand to know your stance on. On top of that there are many causes that there is no clear "good" side because much depends on your perspective and on which side you're willing to overlook blemishes because you feel they are the lesser of two evils. There's nothing wrong with focusing on the issues that are closest to your own life experiences that you feel you can have the greatest impact on. But so many just point to other ignored causes as a means to discredit their opponents and change the subject when pressed on issues they could directly begin fixing.

He just opened up the I Promise Healthcare facility near his school. The dude might seriously get sainted if he's Catholic.

It’s all about money. Period. That is the hypocrisy with China.

James criticized Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey for speaking about a situation that “he wasn’t educated on.”

This is lebron commenting on a statement by morey about Hong Kong.

Even more impressive how he turned out with an out of the picture dad and mom who seems to have not been a beacon of guidance

LeBron played a game in the Drew League last night in a HS gym. For free. Just a different dude.

James scored 42 and his teammate Demar DeRozan scored 30, and somehow their team only won the game by two points.

Of course the other team was led by Dion Wright and Ethan Alvino, so you could certainly understand the game being a struggle.

Yea I saw that. How is that possible? Honestly, LBJ, Derozan + me, you, and Pharma Bro should get a Dub

I’d box out with more effort than players in the summer league .
Plus have a decent enough handle that I could hopefully not get my pocket picked constantly
