I hope he quits. 2 years ago I wanted him traded for someone on the Dline. If he comes back he'll injure his thumb and wont play in the playoffs. If we get nothing in return for Bell Ill take it.

He wants max cash but doesn’t want to be overworked. Nice. Just change the date on the same story every week. He ain’t coming in till week 9. Then the Steelers will make him inactive for 2 weeks and he’ll play 6 games. The minimum required to fulfill his contract. Then see ya later and good riddence.

They can cut him and he becomes a free agent. But as I understand it they can’t negotiate different numbers. He signs the tender or he doesn’t.

I'm a far bigger Steeler fan than a Pitt Fb fan and yes it sucks that LBell is holding out . Whenever there's a pay dispute with the Steelers I go back to Glenn Edwards , a great undersized safety from the 70's . He was signed as free agent in 71 so you know he wasn't making much money . The guy sold out his body for the Steelers and made two cruial plays in Super Bowls , but when it was time to get paid the Steelers let him go to the Chargers . It's a cruel business and yes I'd show up for 850k/ game , but he feels he's better off saving himself . He's entitled to his own opinion as we are it's just not costing any of us millions !

I wouldn't give him the money he wants but not because of the hold out. I wouldn't because he has a lot of wear already and RB's to me just aren't worth the big paycheck when you can find good ones cheap. Its a position which is basically punished because their are to many good players. supply and demand. Add into it that Bell looked like he lost some explosion last year and its a no brainer not to sign him.
Agree but in the NFL the salary cap is what makes fans not want the team to waste money. Otherwise I really think most fans would side with the players far more often.
I think the offer the stillers made was fair.
But as he is unsigned-
The Steelers can’t move him.
Cutting him would be idiotic while they control him.
He’s a special back.
Bell might be a special back but it's not difficult to get quality play from that position. A rb is not worth that kind of money. The game focuses more on passing which is why smart teams put money into elite qbs, pass rushers, and corners.
There is a reason that Patriots have never put much money in rb. Rb's are replaceable.
