Loe decomitts from pitt

If we land another top CB or even two, then what is the issue considering we landed 4 good CB's last year.

If this was the Syracuse board, it would have been "We never offered". This happens non stop now to every team its part of the game. It unfortunately results in wasting a lot of time or money chasing.

Sad day overall at RU we lost a student who was a freshman wrestler in a tragic accident.

Sorry to hear of your school's loss.

On the subject of recruiting, a lot of the mess could be fixed with an early commitment period: make early commitments legally binding. The schools would have to be more judicious in their offers, and players would have to be more cautious when they commit. Coaches shouldn't have to keep re-recruiting players who are already "committed".

Would have loved to have had him here...but not a game changer imo.

More room for Wade now!!

which SU board? I dont here guys talk like that. I hear it more rutgers boards more than any. The guys on the boards I'm on dont say that at all. Now sometimes we hear the staff were not hot on a particular recruit/commit and told him to look elsewhere. Some times they just stop recruiting them for various reasons. That happens too. Just like with every other school. But I never hear guys say we never offer. Sorry about the loss.

Wishing Loe the best of luck.

Not trying to be a homer but I wasn't overly impressed with Loe's film. I actually like the three corners we brought in this year better than Loe, maybe that had something to do with it.

He seemed to be the one commit that we never heard from, he didn't seem to rep Pitt often and you never really heard about him visiting or camping in the burgh.

If Narduzzi actually did pull the ship then that is telling. Duzz never gives up on a player so something was going on behind the scenes that he didn't like. Maybe it was the visits to Rutgers. We will have to keep an eye on Loe's development to see if we missed out or dodged a bullet, I'm going with the later.

I'm sure it was the visit to Rutgers recently, accompanied by tweets from Rutgers reporters of him heading in to the Rutgers football facility with coaches.

It's embarrassing, and you simply can't allow a guy that you feel isn't 100% with you to show you up like that. So they likely told him to move on, and he likely wanted to anyways. It's like a divorce between two people who wake up one day and realize they don't want to be together but wish no real ill will on the other.

Pitt's staff has to protect themselves and their "brand", and they did the right thing not letting this drag on to an eventual decommit.

Proof again that every single kid values different things about different places and they all choose where they go for many reasons.

We take visits from players commited elsewhere , right?

It's not embarassing or protecting any brand .

Are you telling me if Paris wants to go on a visit, we will yank his scholarship?
Cmon

He's a slightly above average recruit at a position we brought in a ton of talent last season. We can replace him rather effortlessly. If this was Ford we wouldn't move on. And you know this.

I do.
Which is why talking about "embarrassment " and "protecting a brand" is silly .

He wasn't considered worth the effort to retain when he waivered .

Nothing more and nothing less .
It's not about principle or something silly like that.

Come on... it is pretty obvious here. We have Ford and Hamlinand all the guys this year. Wade, who is a top 10 recruit and a slew of other DBs we are recruiting. Loe HAD TO see he was getting swallowed up in numbers here. I think that is pretty obvious.

Thinking anything else is pretty silly.

I wish the kid well. He had some talent, but not as much, in my opinion, as Hamlin, Coleman, Miller, and Hill. He would've been a year behind the four of them at CB, and also competing with what I expect will be other very talented CBs in his 2017 class.

Narduzzi is generally a good recruiter, but he will consistently do very well (as he did last year) with CBs, because kids know that the CBs are the stars of his D, and he has turned a few 2/3 star kids into first round draft picks. Any CB committing in 2017 will need to be excellent to have a chance to get early playing time, or any time at all.

Yep. If Lamont Wade committed to us, and then took visits, we wouldn't be pulling his scholly.

The irony there is that if it was the Rutgers board and the player ended up going elsewhere, the "explanation" there would be that he didn't have a "committable offer" . . .

Rutgers is ahead of Penn State right now and the New Rutger's Coach is doing way better recruiting than expected.
Go to Rutgers one day and you'll have to say he's doing a great job recruiting.
Its in New Brunswick NJ a crime ridden dump of a place.Crowded, dirty, with not much to do except keep your doors locked!
Otherwise its a great place!
