..............to really make an impact(be the X factor) on this years team. Especially in the backcourt when teams try pressuring us. Last year toward the end of the season he really took some load off of our guards when teams like Louisville pressured.
He has a above average handle for his size & he can pass over the pressure when needed. Jamel has shown himself to be a diverse player who has very good passing abilities to mix w/ his handle. His game has the potential to get much better because of his well rounded game...although he needs to keep working on his D.
He's the closest thing we have to a 5-Tool basketball player(a take on the baseball term), he shoot s well at the line % wise, he can score by the 3 ball or drive to the basket. He can post up & rebound. He can pass very nicely & his handle has improved yearly.
I said it when he was a Frosh that his game could be very much like Ricardo Greer's & it is coming along very nicely. Greer is 1 of my all time fav. Panthers ....he gave his teams everything he had & then some.
If Artis can get to match Greer's energy & passion every game his potential is very high on the national level, but he has got to maintain that focus night in & night out.
