#19 Toledo down 18 points in the second quarter to UMass. No way they survive a possible loss today and stay in the top 25. I don't even know if a close win should keep them in.

Unfortunately Toledo up 17 now and this probably will just mask the main problem going on here. Non P5 teams are getting too much love in the polls. Houston is pretty much the exception, and I only think that because their head coach ran a pretty good offense at Ohio State so at least he has experience. Toledo is nowhere near a top 25 team in the country though, not even close.

#24 Ole Miss will likely lose to #15 Tex A&M in a game that just started
#23 Duke needed 4OT to barely beat 3-5 VT
#20 Cal lost by a ton on Thursday (to #28 UCLA who could leapfrog Pitt)
#19 Toledo might drop on general principal for needing that type of 2nd half to beat 1-5 UMass

Pitt could move to as high as #21 by tomorrow. It's much easier to move up on a close win when you're ranked than when you're not -- lucky us.

This was my main reason for the initial post. Toledo is not the old Utah, Boise State, TCU, or even Hawaii teams. For a non P5 team to be ranked and taken seriously, you need to really beat these low level teams like UMass handedly.

I still wouldn't overlook Duke. That's a pretty good team. Tech returned starting QB Michael Brewer today, they're an improved team with him in the lineup.

Pitt is winning, but not impressively enough to move up much. Didn't beat YSU handily. Didn't crush UVa. Beat two teams with unimpressive resumes on last minute field goals. Still waiting for a statement win. Big games ahead will better determine where Pitt will be ranked.
