Losing all respect for Zeise

what he said is true. A career .616 guy with some NCAA/NIT experience. That's solid. Dixon was good to very good and not just solid. Kinda like what a lot of folks said about JRob. LOL.

Remember he covers Pitt hoops do you think he could say wtf are they doing and continue doing his job?
Ps Cook could tell it like it is PZ can't

We can argue all day whether Pitt should have rolled the dice on a young mid-major guy but reality is there is a track record with Stallings

UM WHAT?? WHAT TRACK RECORD?? LAST SWEET 16 WAS 10+ YEARS AGO!!!

GIVE ME A BREAK ZEISE.
Zeise is stretching it on that one. Hitler had a track record too. Stallings record is what Zeise said originally. Solid and safe as in some years pretty good, some years very average. Not what we expected.

I was all in on Jamie staying. Boy would that look good right now.

Zeise makes a good point. Stallings is a solid and safe hire. He isn't a horrible coach by any means. It's just that most Pitt fans expected better.
Yes, it's a decision that is clearly based on a strategic vision of where Pitt basketball will be in the next 20 years. This hire will energize our fan base, as we can all see a final four is finally attainable. Recruits will line up to play for a young, dynamic, energetic coach.

A solid, safe hire? So I guess we can wish for .500 seasons as long as he is here. I wanted Dixon to leave, not be fired because the program peaked. I think we took a major step down with this hire

Guys, Zeise is arguing how pitt is spinning it; not how he feels. He doesn't believe this is a good hire and said it on twitter and the radio this morning. He is just playing Devils advocate

I agree with Zeise that it is a safe hire. I wouldn't call it solid by any means. Solid at least indicates that it is an improvement over what you had, which isn't the case with Stallings taking over for Dixon.

This is like the real estate ads that claim "charming little cottage full of character" does not mean "dilapidated bungalow in a crappy area". It's pretty clear that "safe" is a code word for "lacking vision".

Well he obviously is all over the place because he is defending the uptempo comment after a guy asked him how he could tweet that. Zeise mentioned KenPom as his defense. Sorry ratking, Zeise shouldn't be tweeting all this joy joy Stallings stuff. He isn't showing anyone he is against this hire.

He is playing Devils advocate. I have listened to him all day on twitter and the radio.

This is safe as in we will be in the bottom 4 of the ACC, and right around .500 overall.

But it isn't safe because it had alienated the fanbase and the expected results are worse.

Stallings is not a hire of an AD looking to win a national championship. Its a lazy hire and will set you guys back 10 years.

I agree. This is just a hire by an AD trying to look out for his cronies and being lazy. Barnes needed to do his job and scrap the search firm headed by his buddy. He failed miserably with this hire. I resent contributing to this program until Barnes is either removed as AD or he fires Stallings and gets a real coach that a program like Pitt deserves.

Zeise was told by Pitt and the media to spin this as positively as possible and to absolutely not criticize it. He's a sheep right now.

Yes, Jamie as Pitt head coach would look wonderful right about now. This isn't going to be pretty.
