Louisville just played back to back games here and at Miami. I know that comparing game results is not necessarily useful, but here it is anyway. ( I didn't see the Miami game, just going by the box scores.)

Louisville's numbers in both games are very similar - points scored, rebounds, turnovers, shooting percentages. They did shoot 3's better against Pitt. Statistically Miami and Pitt defended Louisville about the same.

The difference between the games is that Miami's offense was better than Pitt's, particularly 3-point shooting was 8/11 and only 7 turnovers. They scored 15 more points than Pitt did.

If this means anything for the season going forward, it seems to confirm the notion that Pitt needs to play well offensively in order to win. The defense was as good as Miami's, in this comparison at least.

I watched the game today. The difference was that Louisville did the exact opposite of what it did against Pitt today. They went ice cold down the stretch, went more than five minutes without a field goal, missing 6 or 7 or 8 or something in a row. Vs. the Pitt game when they got red hot at that same time.

Teams have hot and cold spells throughout every game. Obviously, they are magnified if they happen at the end of a game. On balance, though, Louisville's offense was very much the same against both Pitt and Miami.
