Man, Fox's NFL Pregame show is just unwatchable

Has nothing to do with age. These are just bad tv shows. Fox tries to be over the top funny with Bradshaw and a bunch of comedians. ESPN is just as bad with the screaming "come on man" and "you got mossed" segments which are not only incoherent but you cant understand what they are saying since usually all 5 panelists are yelling at the same time. The best is actually NBC but that is mostly due to the fact they are just doing highlights of the earlier games

What does that tell you.
Part of that is due to the NFC having more big markets than the AFC. Back in the day when CBS had the NFC the NFL Today had higher ratings than the NBC pregame show.

I can’t stand Buck and Aikmen, Buck is only where he’s at because of who is Daddy was and Aikmen is the most colorless color commentator I’ve ever heard.

I realized, I really don't watch NFL pregame shows like I do College Gameday, just there was nothing on at 12:30 so I switched over and the cartoon that Wicker posted is exactly what the show was like. Horrible.

Do networks have that little respect for the audiences?

I would offer that they are giving their target market exactly what they want.

Those networks are large enough, and experienced enough to know that the first rule of marketing is to find out what the target market wants, and the price they're willing to pay for it. Then give it to them if you can offer it at or below that magic price point.

The price in this instance is simply willing to put up with advertising commercials every 10 or so minutes of the broadcast.

Back in the day I used to sit down with my dad and watch Edge NFL Matchup. Damn that show was good, informative, and as a kid I loved seeing Jaws breakdown film. Was Merrill Hodge on back in the day with him?

They still have the show, but I think it airs at 4:30am on Sundays.

That show was great. Had high level breakdowns of film. Didn't insult intelligent fans

Ah, yes, the self proclaimed intelligent fans. What is it exactly that an intelligent fan craves to see on a pregame show for a football game?

nfc has higher rated games on average?

Well.....as someone said, the NFC generally has bigger markets.

NY Football Giants.
Philly
DC
Atlanta
Chicago
Dallas (also a national brand)
Green Bay is like the Steelers, a national brand.
LA Rams
San Fran
Seattle
Arizona
Detroit

The AFC you have
Boston (New England)
Miami (they don't care)
Steelers are a top 5 team based on national following
Houston
Baltimore is not as big of a market as DC
The Jets are subordinate in the NYC to the Giants

You also got the three smallest "markets/fanbases" in Jaxville, Buffalo and the Chargers in the AFC

So who else? So the NFC will always be naturally bigger ratings.

A lot of the games are unwatchable. Seems like the refs want to be a bigger part of the game than in the past. Penalty flags and commercials have really slowed the games down.
