Mark it down : Pitt vs UNC winner will win the Coastal

I hope you are right, but I'll say this if UNC wins the coastal this year....they may win if for the next 10 years....lots of talent signing with the heels lately

It’s not looking good for us. There are zero sure wins.
Pitt will be favored in 3 of the 4 games... and a pick-em against VT.

There are zero sure wins..... but there are three 75% wins and a 50% win.

Virginia Tech isn’t very good either, but they could win it as well.

There are a lot of evenly matched teams in the Coastal with nobody being special. Clemson is in a perfect situation regarding conference affiliation.

We are not winning the coastal. We are not top 25, we are not a team that can finish games strong and today was a prime example. The second half issues are not what good teams or division winners do.
The reality is, we just have a good defense and that’s it.

do you need to be a good team to win the Coastal?

There aren’t a whole lot of good teams playing college football. I’d say about 10 good teams total, and the Coastal doesn’t have any. Clemson is the only one out of the ACC.

Clemson maybe starting to peak at the right time, they look like a different team the last few weeks.

Pitt isnt very good but the reality is that 6 teams in the Coastal are all the same. You could play this season 6 different times and have 6 different winners. Pitt could very easily win the next 4 and the Coastal.

Find me a team incapable of scoring a TD in the second half or in a game against a bad team that can win a division? We could barely beat Delaware, can’t score a TD at home against a terrible Miami.
I’m sorry, an offense this inept cannot win the division. A defense can only do so much to keep a team in a game.

4 rants in the same thread. Get it all out. You’ll feel better.

All of this is great.
A Miami win would have put us in the drivers seat.
Now we're in the back seat and have to rely on others failing.

Exactly. Great teams take care of business not praying for others to fail. We can accept losing to PSU, but barely beating Delaware, and losing to Miami is not a football team set for success.

UNC will beat Virginia next week and VA will lose at least one other
This coaching staff and this team isn’t good enough to win 4 in a row, no matter how mediocre the opponents.
If this miracle should somehow occur. We should then also be thankful we play in the worst division in P5.

I have said this before 6-2 in conference is a great year for Pitt. 6-2 has won the conference 3 times in the last 6 years. If we go 6-2 and lose the conference (tie breaker) then that's on us for not capitalizing, but it is not a bad year given past records and champions.

You’re right. I forgot about the thriller they pulled out against Delaware.
Sorry I meant to say they weren’t good enough to win 4 in a row against P5 opponents.

I don't know. There is alot to clean up on Offense Defense and Special Teams. Pitt scraped by for weeks and it finally caught up. They can't continue to ignore these glaring reoccurring issues. Give young WR a chance if vets can't catch. Use more extra lineman sets if TE can't catch and use some freaking PA when the run is working and take more shots. Not nearly enough down field shots.

Welp, they did last year - Duke, @ Virginia, VT, @ Wake, all not bad teams last year.

Let’s go with 5 - can’t win 5 in a row. Because they won 4 ACC games in a row Narduzzi’s first year too, then lost to UNC. UNC and Miami... now 2-11 against them combined since joining the ACC. Those teams are the roadblocks. If they hadn’t lost to them in ‘15 and ‘16 then maybe they win the coastal those years too.

you keep wanting to argue the team isn’t very good. That’s fine. You’ve sold all of us on that argument.
The point people are making is that none of the teams in the ACC Coastal are very good, so you don’t need to be to win it.

The other teams aren’t good, but better than us. We don’t have a balanced enough offense like last year, we don’t have a strong enough line like last year, and we cannot play from behind because of offensive weaknesses. I’m just trying give others a little honest perspective.

Maybe this can be our teams rallying cry.
“Our team isn’t very good. Our coaches aren’t very good. But we are in the ACC coastal”

this isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement of the staff.
