He will keep a network job. Fox has a lot of studio programming, or he could always go over to the NFL as a game analyst on CBS or Fox. He was a CBS game analyst many years ago.

May is a bit too ... candid ... about Penn State and Notre Dame for a yinzers station to hire him. Imagine him among all those cultists.

But I'd bet he's made enough FU money (NFL player, then decades on a network) that he wouldn't need to come here to work for one .. or even just to work our games. Though I'd have thought that of Fralic too...

Everything you said makes perfect sense. The problem is that it seems as though the networks are always looking for the "next big thing", rather than the safe, sure thing. This is how guys like Tony Romo get a job with no broadcasting experience.

ESPN has way too many bodies doing the same thing. They definitely need to slim down like FS1's skeleton crew.

He wont replace Bill.They will hire someone to do both Football and Basketball like Bill does now when that day comes.And If I'm not mistaken Mark already did football color with Bill a few years ago.

Bill sounded like somebody had just hit him the temple with a cinder block. Mayday was well spoken and articulate. PSU and OSU fans HATED him because he didn't fawn over their programs and was honest when he called them out for their numerous issues such as the PSU child abuse scandal and Tattoo-gate. He could also give credit where credit was due.

Nearly 100k students annually.

Loved Mark May, I would tune in just to hear him. I know the OSU fans really hated him, not sure why, dont know the backstory, but I love the guy.

That being said... he has been on ESPN light years for that station. Hardly a firing more of a change in direction.
