Marshall Suing Pitt Over Canceled Game

Ask Lyke for the money

Heather did so much damage here, I'm not sure if we'll ever fully recover. Probably the worst AD in Pitt history. I dont blame Pitt for using Covid to back out of the deal but why the EFF were we playing home and home with Marshall....and Western Michigan....and selling marquee home games to Ireland?

Playing road G5 games isn't that uncommon for most of the P5. The blue bloods might not do it, but I can think of Syracuse at UNLV this past season, Virginia Tech at Old Dominion, UNC at App State, etc. We're too impoverished to just buy all home games. Heck, we've been at Toledo, Navy, Ohio, Utah, Akron, UCF, Buffalo, FIU, and I'm sure quite a few more before Lyke got involved.

Agree with the other stuff, though.

Aren't there cancellation terms with penalties in the scheduling agreement?
Sorry if this is in the OP. I can't see it.

Pitt’s lawsuit says that the contract did not have a provision that required them to reschedule, and I think they’d have an extremely strong force majeure argument for cancelling the 2020 game.

Also, just to reiterate: the title of the OP is wrong. Pitt is the one who filed suit against Marshall. Marshall sent Pitt a letter in September demanding either that the cancelled 2020 game be rescheduled, or that Pitt pay Marshall $1M in liquidated damages.

While it’s almost certain that Marshall would have eventually filed a suit to demand the same, *Pitt* is the one that has filed suit against Marshall in Allegheny County asking a court to declare that Pitt is not required to either reschedule the game or pay any money in damages.

Pitt should ask for an extra game next season end of August to play at Marshall. I don't think Marshall even has a team currently. Pitt needs a win desperately. If they can't beat Marshall you bring the coaches back in a separate bus and have it take a wrong turn on the way back. Make that a reality tv series called "Deliverance 2: Dem Boyz got purdy moufs".

Have you been diagnosed with Tourette's yet? No person should be always saying the same thing.
