Mason Rudolph and James Washington returning to OK State

I think Rudolph has got game. I believe Rudolph could move up the QB list the way Mitch Tribinsky did at UNC as far as the NFL draft is concerned. The kid can sling the ball & that WR Washington is a badass himself. Makes that game at home all that much more difficult for sure.

H2 PITT !!!

Boo hoo hoo.

And let me guess, if he had scheduled a team like UTEP, you'd be here lamenting how it's a weak opponent that no one cares about.

Nope. I don't complain about opponents. I go to see Pitt and what the program needs right now is wins. To get ranked and to help recruiting.

Who thought it was a good idea to schedule Oklahoma State for a home and home the week after playing a huge game against PSU? The road game this year was basically a guaranteed loss.

You will recall it was reported after Chryst left that Steve did not confer with his coach before doing non league scheduling. This season would have been Chrysts fifth. Steve made sure to load it up with tough games.

Um, you were complaining about the opponent.
And I know your act. If it wasn't a team like Oklahoma State, you'd be complaining that Pederson loaded the schedule with cheesedick teams to boost Pitts win total to make himself look good.

Right. My act. Ok.

Because that's the issue here. Not the idiotic decision to schedule a road game in Stillwater, Oklahoma for the week after playing your biggest rival for the first time in 16 years.

Makes the Panthers non-conference schedule that much tougher next year.
I truly believe Rudolph could be drafted this year as a top 3 QB. He may be making a mistake by waiting because this year's class is not very deep. Same with Tribinsky.

How

just awful to have an attractive ooc opponent
Oklahoma State brings almost no more Pitt fans out than a rent a win.

Pitt needs wins, not games against decent power 5 teams that don't even really move the needle nationally or with very casual fans, but give them a much higher chance of a loss being added to their record.

I agree - dumb game to schedule (thought Utah was dumb as well) - crowd will not look much different than if playing a Marshall or Youngstown - only difference is the probable outcome

No opponent brings out more Pitt fans.
It's just how many fans of the other team show up.
And when Pitt plays a rent to Win, all the folks do is complain.

I thought Mason Rudolph was pretty average when pitt got pressure on him during the 2nd half of that game.

"Pitt pseudo-fans" search for reasons to not go to the games.

Going back a few years, when Pitt was in the Big East, the complaint was that conference games were so unappealing that no one wanted to see UConn and the other teams. Okay, so we moved to the ACC where the competition and cachet of the teams were a notable upgrade from the Big East.

The teams may have changed, but so did the excuses.

I guarantee that if Pitt was in the Big Ten, that the same crybabies would be bitching about Minnesota, Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, and any other team not named PSU or tOSU. There's no reasoning with people who are too damn cheap to part with their money......

So we should give ourselves a much bigger chance at a loss to get maybe 300 more (above what YSU might bring) OSU fans to Heinz?

I don't complain. I want wins. The program needs wins.

I agree with the wins part. Except....

Pitt will get called out for scheduling cupcakes.
Remember fans who thought that we should have tried to schedule a neutral site game against Alabama? On top of Notre Dame and Iowa to boot.
And, as we saw yesterday, playing a mediocre team isn't a guarantee for victory.
