90 offensive players listed, where are the defensive players?
Umm, 2 of the 3 from Pitt are on defense...Juan Price and Jordan Whitehead.90 offensive players listed, where are the defensive players?
Those guys aren't on the Maxwell Award Watch List. Price and Whitehead are on the Bednarik Award Watch List.Umm, 2 of the 3 from Pitt are on defense...Juan Price and Jordan Whitehead.
Thanks. Saw the press release with pictures of all three and assumed it was all Maxwell. Those guys aren't on the Maxwell Award Watch List. Price and Whitehead are on the Bednarik Award Watch List.
And, no, this isn't negative. This is the truth and not a lie.
Obviously not saying he will win it, but a guy like Whitehead, who plays some on offense (and/or a big role on ST) is probably the only way a defender can win the Maxwell. I wish they would just say that is for the best offensive player, though, if they are going to make it practically impossible for a defensive player to win it.Now, a defensive guy can win Maxwell. Obviously he isn't being watched at the moment
In the last 36 years only Hugh Green and Manti T'eo have won.Obviously not saying he will win it, but a guy like Whitehead, who plays some on offense (and/or a big role on ST) is probably the only way a defender can win the Maxwell. Forgot about T'eo's win. Boy was that a shitty year of candidates. Especially sucks that the next year Aaron Donald didn't even get nominated, but won almost every other award he possibly could have.In the last 36 years only Hugh Green and Manti T'eo have won.
Very nice to see that they remembered what a dynamic player James can be. It's been in the back of my mind since November that if James can come back full strength he could nudge his way into the Heisman race.
