Pitt has an advertising package during Penguin broadcasts on ATTSN that has been going all season.

During the fall, they would update both commercials and the on-screen graphics that drop down from the scorebug while the game is happening to promote the next home game. That’s great.

However, ever since FB ended, the on screen drop down is just generic text that says “Pitt Basketball Tickets On Sale”. How hard would it be to promote the next home game and opponent? Seems awfully lazy from Pitt marketing and a huge missed opportunity to promote upcoming games to the massive Penguins viewership.

No amount of marketing will help because the team is lousy.
More than anything it tells the story of the effort level Pitt athletics marketing is putting into basketball these days.

Good point
What money are they saving? They are already spending it because the advertising is running. It would cost zero to update the creative and promote some of the upcoming home dates.

Was a joke on both ends

Gotta win for Pittsburgh to back this or any program. Including students who commute and/or have graduated. Being Mr. Obvious but there are programs who draw whether they’re decent or not. Envious of the Arkansas crowd last night. 20k rockin’. Only a dream now for Pitt loyalists.

Pitt will NEVER consistently sell-out The Pete again unless we experience a prolonged stretch of extreme winning like the Glory Days. The arena is too big. Dixon II bubblish (which is the ceiling for this program) aint selling out or getting all that close unless a blue blood or Syracuse bring a really good team and 1000 fans.

Thank God they didn't build it with Gold seats !

Maybe they're ashamed of the product?? I think lots of longtime loyal fans are.
