Also, I know this has been stated on here before, I’d be OK if we declined the invitation and took an at-large bid to the Frisco Bowl against an AAC team.
Teams can’t decline an invite from a bowl their conference has a tie in with and why do you want Pitt to play a Sun Belt team before Xmas in front of 1,000 people?

Well, for one it’d be against an AAC team, not Sun Belt (as stated in my first post). Frisco/Dallas would be a much more enjoyable trip for those going than El Paso. It’s also played in Toyota Stadium, one of the nicest facilities in the MLS and was packed last year for SMU and La Tech. Smaller stadium = better atmosphere.
Finally, we’d have a better chance for a bowl victory. That’s all I want at this point. 8-6 gives us momentum heading into next year. But if we can’t decline it like you mentioned, then Sun Bowl it is.
Sun Bowl is fine since the stadium will be full no matter how we travel. Declining the Sun Bowl would not be a smart move for future bowl prospects.
The Crisco Bowl is going to be Ohio vs. San Diego State, looks like the American couldn't fill it.
All of this we should play 1aa teams or rescind a conference bowl so we can play an easier team is nuts! If you want to watch 1aa teams go to RMU or Duquesne for your 1aa fill or make the drive to Akron for your low end 1a action.
Also this is Pitt we’re talking about it’s no guarantee they’d beat either Ohio or SDSU.

This is a good point, and probably why dealing a bowl would ever happen. Just wishful thinking on my part.
