Impressive what the Zags did in the 2nd half 2 games in a row.
Things didn’t look promising for them at the half vs Memphis.
The athletes in that game last night make our players look like an elementary school girls team. If Penny can learn to coach, he can develop a top 10 team that competes for a tourney championship. Gonzaga is just solid all around.
If the Memphis players and coaches spent less time whining they may have won, Memphis is a great team to root against.
Memphis made a ton of tough shots in that game. Shots that the guy is taking it and you think well that wasn't the best shot to take and it goes in.
What's funny, those of us old enough to remember Keith Lee, Penny, and all of the former great Memphis players and teams, it is meet the knew boss, same as the old boss.......it is business as usual there. Amazing raw talents....questionable methods and coaching.
I wonder how many remember my favorite name who played at Memphis in that time frame, Baskerville Holmes?
I do. Hands so big he could palm a dinner plate as Billy Packer once said about him. Don’t forget William Bedford. Lots of dirty money and drugs associated with that Memphis State team back then. Not exactly a group of “scholar athletes”.
