I know not all teams are playing and its extremely limited, but the men soccer team is #4 in initial rankings and the ladies # 12.

Even given the obvious limitations with ranking college soccer this year, to have both programs ranked under any circumstance considering where they were just five years ago is one of the most remarkable turnarounds in Pitt history. It’s a story that really should be getting more notice in the region.
To be fare, the complete United Soccer only has 5 total teams ranked and they are only ACC teams:
1. Wake
2. Clemson
3. UVA
4. Pitt
5. ND
College Soccer News had Pitt's men 28th for the preseason among all teams, playing or not.
United Soccer ranks 15 women's teams total and Pitt is 12th.

5. Texas A&M
6. Oklahoma State
7. Duke
8. Georgia
9. Kansas
10. Vanderbilt
11. UVA
12. Pitt
13. Arkansas

That said 4th and 6th in the ACC is awesome compared to just a few years ago.

I don't think anyone else is playing at this point. The Big 12 and the SEC are playing football. But the Big 12 does not have men's soccer (I think the Hoopies are the only ones to play, and I don't think they are playing). And only about half of the SEC schools have men's soccer and I don't know if they have started yet. Most of the "smaller" conferences are not playing fall sports, for instance the MAC (which is where the Hoopie men play), the A10 and the MWC. So who is left?
I take that back, the SEC doesn't actually sponsor men's soccer. But Kentucky and South Carolina do play in Conference USA.
It looks like the only men's conferences to be playing the fall are the ACC, the AAC, the Sun Belt, the Missouri Valley, the Southern, the Southland and the Atlantic Sun.

The Citadel would lose to the WPIAL champion. I know that program fairly well. Pitt’s win wasn't pretty, but they got it done.
on a side note, my daughter’s school had a picture of her beating 2 Citadel defenders on her profile page of their team website. The players in the picture looked like the two most unathletic players you could imagine. I hated that picture! Lol.
