I've seen comments posted here over the past week or so suggesting that Miami has packed it in and should be a relatively easier team on our schedule to beat. I also saw that Pitt opened up as a 6-point favorite, which seemed high to me.

Looking at Miami's schedule, their record is similar to ours. It appears they lost to the same teams we'd have lost to and beat the same teams we did. To me, it seems like this should be a very tight game but I seem to be in the minority.

seems like they have played better since firing golden. this will be a close game.

Last odds I saw were Pitt by 5.5. Sagarin's computer predicts between a 7-8 point Pitt win using all of his multiple ratings ranging from recent to average for the season plus the standard home field advantage. Take away any home field advantage if you think Heinz field doesn't give us any and the 7-8 range drops to Pitt favored by 4+ to 5+.

I haven't seen any injury updates from Miami, but my first though is a similar game to Ville. Kind of sloppy and back and forth.

Never take a team with raw talent lightly. The main question is if Pitt can get a decent lead will the 'Canes pack it in. This game makes me a bit nervous but I don't think Narduzzi will allow these guys to let up. A 9-3 season and a better bowl possibility are good reasons to play their best.

GT gained over 300 yards on the ground....not unusual for that offense. They only completed a couple of passes for 59 yards?? 4 turnovers vs. 0 for the U. Miami had 7 penalties vs. 1 for GT. I think our balance will carry the day. 28-17, Pitt wins.

What's most troubling about Miami vs. Pitt to me is that Miami has a QB who can heave the ball down the field and speedy players who can catch the heaved ball. So I suspect that MIami is going to score a good number of points - the key for Pitt will be scoring at least in the high 30s and getting some sacks/turnovers to stifle some drives...

Go Pitt.

Miami is not that good but firing Golden was the best thing to happen to them in years. They do at least still have some talent and now don't have a terrible head coach. I think we beat them because we're better, I don't think Miami will just roll over and die though.

I'm sure the returnees from the U are reminded of their poor tackling last year and will show up this year.
