Miami: really good. Duke and UVa: overrated

I picked Miami 4th but after the first 2 weeks, I think they are #2 in the ACC behind Roy's gang (when they wake up in mid-January and decide they want tk play). Its no accident either. Rodriguez and McClelland are one of the best backcouets in the nation. Reed is a solid 3 and Jekiei is a much improved center. The Canes are playing like an NCAAT 2 seed kind of team.

As for Duke, we've seen a lot of different Duke teams but this year's version is not that special. The replacing frosh arent nearly as good as last year's and Grayson Allen cant carry the team on his own. Duke gets everyone's best game and this team isnt good enough for that. This team is looking like an NCAAT 5-6 seed I think.

UVa's defense isnt where it needs to be. Its not even close. They better get their act together.

The only thing that has changed in UVa's defense from last year is the impact of the new whistle happy rules. If their "Pack Line" defense was a pure man to man and not a combo defense employing zone principles they would be in deep deep trouble under the new rules. As it is they are unable to defend as effectively as in the past; but, it is still pretty good considering the new officiating which is making man to man defenses almost completely ineffective.

I agree Miami is a good team and is going to keep getting better. To ever say Duke is overrated is insane this early in the season though. I think the biggest mistake was UNC being ranked #1 preseason and ahead of Duke. I think Duke has a much better chance of winning the ACC this season.

Looking at our past, and seeing the talent and length and athleticism on this team, there is no reason to doubt that dixon may pull a rabbit out of the hat. Remember when the team with brown got a one seed? This team may have more overall talent. I am serious.

If I have learned anything from this board, it is that you can take a very small sample size and extrapolate it to a great truth, and always be wrong, but keep coming back for more. Eventually, one hits, and one can pound ones chest saying, See I told you so, totally disregarding the 17 previous goofy thoughts.

N.C. State sucks. Blown out at home by William and Mary. Just lost to the worst team in the Pac-12 on a neutral floor. And NC.State wants to run BJ Anya out of town. No defense at all.

Rowan said he'd rather play in NCAAT than McD AA game.

To be fair, they are missing their best player, big-time scorer and WVU transfer Terry Henderson.

NCSt is now predicted to finish 15-16. Probably a decent chance Mav is playing in a different city next fall, if his recruitment is any indication.

Wouldn't shock me, although he's chucking up a bunch of shots so maybe that's enough to keep him around. Feel like every time I look he's putting up like 14 points on 12 or 13 shots.

Have you seen his rankings? He sucks, not even a Top 50 kid. What he does in college means nothing, the 2-bit evaluators who can't even latch on to a real scouting job are the ones who know all.
