Mike Decourcy, live interview, ridiculous hype on Kevin Keatts to Pitt

You could have Mike Zrzyzewki or Bob Knight drawing up an in-bounds play down 1 with 2 seconds left in the game, but if you don't have the athletes to carry out the play, or are limited by what kind of plays you're able to call, your chance of winning are becomes infinity slimmer. Keats has my stamp 'o approval.

Was talking to Robby Carmody's grandfather the other day. He was just offered by Louisville. I said, "What do you think about the prostitutes?"

He said, and I quote "He's getting me a blonde and a red head."

He was kidding but he couldn't care less about the allegations.

Hysterical!

Theirs no way Pitt crosses that line and hires him,it's not a pity thing to do,if theirs any trouble related to a staff member he isn't coming here, unless Pitt thinks he has absolutely nothing to do with the scandal at Louisville then I don't they even consider him, theirs other just as good coaches out their with out the trouble
Try again.

Starkey and Mueller were just talking Keatts up quite a bit and Starkey made an interesting point. Pitt has a search firm involved. isn't it their obligation to do a thorough investigation on the guy to see what's there? Here's my follow up, if the search firm does a thorough vetting and he comes up clean does Pitt then at least have enough plausible deniability to go ahead with the hire? Should something later emerge, then Pitt can act accordingly and not look bad in the process. I guess here's the thing, if he would be the ideal candidate and he is there for the taking but we back off because of the Louisville thing, it would be a real shame.

A search firm cleared Haywood and then shit hit the fan a week later. It may hurt the firm's business, but it is Pitt's name going through the mud either way.

Two different things really. The Haywood thing was bad timing (or maybe good timing, as it turned out). It hadn't happened yet and unless the guy had a history of domestic violence, he was properly vetted. This is an investigation into something that's already occurred. If the search firm says he's clean and it later is proven incorrect I guess Pitt would be justified in dropping him. Of course, that would put the program in quite a bind.

If you watched his press conference and know about the situation with that woman, he was not properly vetted. Pitt certainly agrees with that.
