While most of the discussion surrounds the Panthers depth chart (as it should), there's a bit of interesting news out of Happy Valley. Mr. Sanders, and all of the hype and consternation his recruitment wrought, is currently sitting FOURTH on the running-back chart released by PSU.
Now, while I agree with some of the more thoughtful points made by others on the board that the Week 2 depth chart is infinitely more important than the Week 1 chart (especially as it relates to Pitt's roster/suspension situation in particular), it's kind of illuminating on a central point that this staff and others make clear once Camp starts: HS rankings are the sizzle, college depth charts are the substance.
While those rankings have a high correlation to collegiate production, they have very little correlation to whether you play or not once the pads start popping. Something to remember.
