Woke up to the news and am still trying to have someone on Pitt's end confirm. It seems legit from the USA Today source. The name is escaping me right now.
This is about as late as you can possibly add someone. When you look at the two point guards on the roster, there are question marks on both. James Robinson has never been a physical specimen and is coming off of a foot injury. I don't anticipate any problems there, but you never know. With Damon Wilson, you might not have any answers for another month or so. The NCAA can essentially rule whenever they want to.
I will attempt to speak with Milligan as soon as possible, as well as confirm this news. From some brief video, looks very quick. The shooting percentages are solid but he slides forward a little bit on the release. JUCO can be a very tricky league to recruit from. Sometimes it translates, sometimes it doesn't. There are times when players light up JUCO and can't get it going at the high major level. The other way also happens, where a kid that isn't highly touted comes in and contributes. The JUCO history hasn't been great, but it is always about the next one. Not sure how he fits in yet, but the best thing about Milligan right now is that he is available. With so many injuries and question marks, it seems like a relatively low-risk move.
I hope to have a lot more information by lunch time.
