About a week ago I made the decision to skip the game, for various reasons. This just confirms that I've made the right decision.
So you're a Pitt fan who decided a week ago to skip the game that we've been waiting for? For 16 years?!? Cmon.
WE WANT A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE!!!!! NOW WE CANT HAVE ONE! Forgetting the fact that beer is served at every Pirate game and there a gazillion kids and families at every Pirate game. All attending the games without being, raped, pillaged and harassed.
Exhibit A as to Pitt fans will always find an excuse to not attend a game.
Who would want to touch their lips anyways? Yuk!
I've been debating for about a year now, actually.
I really have no interest in watching Pitt play Pedophile State, and certainly don't want to be near their disgusting fans.
I'm looking forward to seeing Pitt play in the two games I can attend, Georgia Tech and Duke.

Though, the thought of fleecing $600+ out of a group of their fans, only for them to see their team be (hopefully) defeated by Pitt is quite appealing.
Yup! My doctor told me I should limit things to 3 bottles of beer on weekend days while watching sports. No problem Doc I can make that happen so I switched to quarts!

Hopefully they'll have enough sense to offer more than Ahrn City, Coors Lite and Miller Lite. Not saying it needs to be a huge selection but some craft (in other words good) beer would be nice.
is it me or does every lighter craft beer taste nothing more than grapefruit? I was at bar in cultural district, tried about 7 different beers and I swear, every single one had a grapefruit taste.. What the hell is it with this love for citrus flavored beer? is there such thing as a craft beer that tastes like beer? Maybe i'll make the first "beer flavored" beer, start a new trend..
It's not you. Fruit forward beers have become a thing. I guess like anything else the brewers are trying to capitalize on how poplar craft beer is getting. It probably also is partially to attract people who don't traditionally like beer.
I can't drink macros any more however there are plenty of craft beers that are just plain awful as well.
It could be worse: under the old Administration, if beer sales were approved, they might've bowed to political correctness - and the pressure of some locals - and sold that Joepa swill that Duquesne is producing.Now the bad news--beer sales will be limited to this product:
Depends on the type of hops used.
Mosaic hops (which are seasonal) and a few others are more fruity, than grassy, in flavor.
Wonderful to have the ability to purchase a $9 can of Miller Lite...exciting indeed!
it's there if you want it but the fun thing is, if you don't, no one will make you spend your money on it. Quite silly it took this long to be honest.. Our university has joined the 21st century
I think there will be some fights at Pitt/Penn State. And judging by this message board, I'm likely to believe Pitt people will be egging them on with signs and comments about Sandusky, Ped State, JoePa etc. Instead of just leaving well enough alone and enjoying the game.
I would guess they'll have what the Steelers have, which includes some craft beers as well as the generic stuff.
To each his own I like the strong citrusy hops flavor. Beer flavored beer makes me gag--probably drank too many local prohibition style brews in my misspent youth.
If a person wants to drink a "beer flavored beer" they need to stick with lagers....preferably Pilsner lagers. Stay away from top fermented ales e.g IPA's. Stay away from Belgian styles with their candied sugars and funky yeast strains.
The citric or tropical fruit notes are prevalent in some of the newer engineered hop varietals used in IPA's
Pitt is estimating this will bring in around 500k annually. That will pay for gas for the new recruiting bombardier jet.
