MMMMMMMM.....BEER!!

Oh I know who can do this. Unfortunately most of them now are dead. But they had a title. Golden Panthers. And I think more Scotch and Bourbon were in order than beer.

If a person wants to drink a "beer flavored beer" they need to stick with lagers....preferably Pilsner lagers. Stay away from top fermented ales e.g IPA's. Stay away from Belgian styles with their candied sugars and funky yeast strains.

The citric or tropical fruit notes are prevalent in some of the newer engineered hop varietals used in IPA's

You're correct however there are more and more beers being infused with fruit juices. I just saw Sculpin Pineapple IPA at Giant Eagle this evening.

If they're only making 5 cents a beer, they must be projecting to sell a case to each fan every game!

I think they have a pretty sweet deal when it comes to concessions. I read an article that Pitt makes 88% of the ticket revenue. And they make 100% of the concession revenue ( I assume they mean profit).

WE WANT A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE!!!!! NOW WE CANT HAVE ONE! Forgetting the fact that beer is served at every Pirate game and there a gazillion kids and families at every Pirate game. All attending the games without being, raped, pillaged and harassed.

I take my family to the games but I have long-complained it is "too family oriented." We get a whole row to ourselves to spread out since nobody beside us ever shows up. There is no crowd noise. No fans seem into the game. For kids, its great. But I want to see the place more lively.

That can't be right. According to some, the Rooney's steal all of the money.

To me that tastes way better than pisss like Coors or Bud or Lite or any of the generic American pisss water brands.
We all have our opinions on beer.. My issues with a lot of these craft beers and their tendency to be grapefruit/citrusy is you cant drink a lot of them. They (IMO) are good if you want one or two only, during the day, sitting in the sun, kind of a beverage.. Im usually gonna have multiple beers, 6+ and well after about 2 of these, it just makes you sick with sweetness.. So maybe that's why I choose your typical domestic pilsners over this stuff, better quantity over quality.. A yuengling (Draft only) or Smithwick's is about as dark as I can go, any stout is too heavy for me.. LIke the darker type beer in the winter though..

For quantity drinking, a generic American beer is best. I agree totally, You get too bloated drinking 5-6 craft brews. Tailgate beer? Something like Iron, Bud, Miller, PBR, Coors is fine, Yuengling for the "dark" taste, those beers, I can drink 8-10 and be fine. You're right, the heavier, sweeter, higher alcohol brews are for drinking 2, maybe 3 and chillin'.

That's probably why I never got into those beers. I rarely if ever drink beer to "chill". If I drink, it's with friends and our primary goal is to get f'ed up, so we'll be drinking as many as we can. Normally we switch to shots to pick up the pace with getting to our end goal.

I gotta say, getting a nice 10-12 beers in before the game and then having to sit there for 3 hours to sober up sucks. I'll be happy to be able to drink a couple during the game to keep my buzz going till after the game. Thank you Barnes and Gallagher. Another quick win for that team!

Lately, I find, I enjoy a large bottle or can (24-30 oz.) of 8%+ alcohol beer, when watching a sports event on TV by myself, it gives me the buzz and I'm less bloated, I really like Baltika #8, it's a Russian beer, 8% alcohol and pretty smooth,

LOL, fantastic post. I think getting cutoff after a 1/2 case sucks too and am happy that we now have access to that 13th-14th and 15th beer.. Anything worth doing...

Just 12% then?

And the Rooney's have other ways to funnel money into their coffers.

Wouldn't you if you where in their position?

No different then lobbyists buying votes to funnel money to their own industries via regulation, tax breaks, etc. Rooneys are in the same game, except most people don't realize it.

Really? You are right in a sense, there are STUPID YINZERS that see the Rooneys as benevolent monarchs doing what's best for the little guy Yinzer. it is funny. I mean honestly, what they do doesn't bother me, as long as the Steelers win, it's just entertainment after all.
