It appears college athletics will be flush with money. Unfortunately that means the Big Ten and SEC will grab more than their share leaving the ACC and Big 12 to fight for scraps.

A new basketball tournament is proposed for Las Vegas. Initially there will be 8 teams but the plan is to expand it to 16 teams. Each school will have $1 million deposited into their NIL account.

There is a proposal to expand the NCAA basketball tournament at the end of the season. This will mean more money. The Big 12 has already said they are in favor of it.

The football playoffs will be expanded. The Big Ten and SEC will grab the lions share but the ACC and Big 12 will get more.

There is a proposal to pay college athletes. It will cost each school $30 million per year. About half goes to athletes and the other half goes to payoff an anti-trust lawsuit that the NCAA will lose.

There is a proposal to let the athletes form a union without be considered employees. They need Congress to pull this off but it is the best solution.

We could see the day that starters on a college basketball team make almost as much as a NBA rookie.

The ACC and Big 12 need to fight to get a fair share. They will get less but more than they now get.
