More ACC Network crap

Friday night, our women’s Vball is on ACC extra. No big deal though considering the opponent.

As stated in the other thread, Friday night is soccer night and our Men play. So a good opportunity to see #1 Pitt try and clinch a sole regular season championship vs #11 Cuse. Right? Nope. We get #8 UNC vs last place #15 Boston College.

As I said for volleyball, ratings on ACCN for soccer or any Olympic sport are going to be very bad. These events are televised only as "filler" and also for a recruiting tool. As much as I like Pitt soccer, I will be the first to tell you that nobody is going to watch them on TV so ACCN could really care less which soccer games they put on. Its predetermined before the season and they try to give every team a similar amount of games with the teams projected to be really good a few more. Its like this for all the Olympic sports. I do think they should be more creative and when you know you have a big-time volleyball game, maybe you do a 5/7/9 soccer/soccer/volleyball tripleheader.
