More fun... dumbest fan bases - WVU

I wonder who is further up that list. Could be penn state's fans? But tough beating out WVU and singing a song about western virginia.

It has become cliché to pick on the Hoopie fan base with lists like this. But...SO WHAT. It is first, incredibly accurate (and by the 5 is still too low) and tremendous fun. If Travis would have read the internet message boards during any conference shuffle discussion he would no doubt rank them #1.

No, they sing Sweet Home Alabama. They are truly that dumb.

No....they are absolutely correct in singing "Sweet Home Alabama". As you may have heard, Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, with Alabama in between.

Also, another song they sing "My ol' Pennsyltucky home."

This is pretty funny... I see them continuing their rise in future charts.

Here is the follow-up The first and last emails are priceless. I like that website a lot. It's very SEC-centric but usually a fun read. Two years ago when he did this list the Steeler Nation made it. As a fan I couldn't help but laugh. I suppose that's what most reasonable fans do.

Good to know they still love us.

Anyone can tell that cc is one of the worst fan bases, don't need a survey to know this fact. Most of their fans are very barbaric, crude, vulgar, foul, and just plain dumb. Pathetic and that's why their in the Arena football conference.

Seriously... can you believe their song isnt even about West Virginia??? That is comical.

"Danoff and Nivert then told him (Denver) about a song that they had been working on for about a month. Inspiration had come while driving to a family reunion of Nivert's relatives in nearby Maryland. To pass the time en route, Danoff had made up a ballad about the little winding roads they were taking. Later, he changed the story to fit that of an artist friend, who used to write to him about the splendors of the West Virginia countryside. "

The geographical references were off, but the first four words are literally "Almost Heaven, West Virginia" I mean, really.

By way of contrast, I present the ever inspirational, "Pennsylvania".
