Knight was the most important player starting Pitt's run. Krauser and Blair were the two most important players keeping it going.
Yeah, I saw you are talking about one year. Can you read?
No. It is not surprising, because I really get frustrated when I pose these types of questions and how quickly people can take them off the rails. Can you read?
Yeah, I saw you are talking about one year.
I decided to remark on Blair's true importance. Is that allowed?
Without Blair, there is no 2008-2009 season to ask about.
Does that specifically answer your question?
Man. I really thought this would be closer. I have always felt that Young was a better player and more important player to that team. They don’t make it out of the first weekend without Young.
Blair created the space for young to have room to create his shots. Blair would be double teamed. Blair cleaned the boards on the defensive side of the ball. Blairs personality was the leader of the team. He was the most important player. Young was very good but he wasn't as important as Blair was.Blair was obviously the more talented player.
However, I felt that Young was more important because he could create his own shot. Blair needed to receive a pass to set up his shot, or an offensive rebound.
Blair could've been limited by denying entry passes to him, but Young got to the point in which he was creating his own shot and also splitting double teams.
I have very strong feelings about this so I'm curious what the lair thinks.
I wanted to make this "Better" player, but I actually think "more important" is a better framing device.
PS - The answer is the same either way.
Young absolutely single handidly won games for us-
He nearly beat nova in the elite 8
